My DB and I are in Tampa for a short time and are considering a day trip down to disney. I just have a quick questions.

Would one day (probably March 10th, a Tuesday) be enough for just the Magic Kingdom? Two adults no kids. Priorities would be characters, rides, and fireworks. Then if there was time, shows and sight seeing. I haven't been there in over 10 years, even longer for him.

Also, if it would work, what would be our best option on where to get tickets? We can afford the straight from disney ones, but if there is a legitimate way to save a little obviously we'd like that too, lol.

It's not possible to do everything in MK in 1 day, but you can still do a lot.

You aren't likely to find a legitimate discount on 1 day tickets.

That is a fairly busy day, but you could definitely get a lot in as the hours are 8 am to 11 that day (according to my very quick research). If you can skip meeting Anna and Elsa, even better, as that might save you and hour or so just on it's own. Be there before opening, prioritize the few rides you must ride, get FP+ for those as soon as possible (you'll need to buy tickets first and link them to MDE) and go for it. I'd recommend hitting the "Mountains" in your first hour or two in the park, look for FP+ for mine train if you're lucky, and a few character FP+ as well.

I think it would since I have done many 1/2 day or 1 day visits to the parks. In fact, some of my favorite visits to MK are my 1/2 day or 1 day visits while I was in Florida during a non-Disney trip. As long as you prioritize what is important and focus on that, you should be fine. I would pick about 10 things in all of MK that you want to do and try and figure out a schedule for those. Then anything extra is a bonus. You will probably be able to get double or triple of this done, but this is how I approach my 1 day visits. It just makes the day less stressful.

There are very few, if any, discounts for 1 or 2 day park tickets so it does not usually make sense to buy these types of tickets outside of WDW. I would order the tickets online if you know you are for certain going. Then you can add these tickets to a DME account and actually try to get FP+ for that day to help you out.

We do that from time to time. We call it a "little dose of Disney".

As long as you go into it with the attitude that you have expectations of not doing it all, the experience can be very worthwhile.

Oh...... and once you purchase the tickets, you have to develop selective amnesia over how much you just paid. And whatever you do not break it down in your mind to "cost per ride".

Beyond that, there is much fun to be had. :)

Buy tickets soon, rumors of a price increase are on the horizon. And if you buy them now, you could reserve for FP+ for a few rides.

FP+ may work in your favor here if you go ahead and buy your tickets and do a little planning.

I'm doing EPCOT and MK in one day coming up soon... Just have to have expectations in check with you going beginning of spring break season.
