While in WDW we will be meeting up with some American friends. I want to give them my mobile number to call me if they need to while we are there. If my number starts, 07970 do they dial 44 7970 then the rest of the number? DH said they have to dial 00 44 7970. Not sure which is correct.

Anyone know?

Thanks!

Thanks for the very quick reply. Does the + actually count? I never noticed it on the phone. Sounds like a silly question.................

Remember you will get charged for incoming calls whilst in the US!

I know, but I thought that as a last resort they might need to call me if we cannot find each other in MK or something. Thanks for the reminder though.

Yes, the + makes it looik for the internatonal code
On every phone I have had, its on the * button.
I have all my numbers stored as +44 then 7etc.. as then in the UK it detects its a UK "local" call and in Europe/USA it dials the international dialling code

and your friends will be charged as an international call to the UK..

on the mobile phones i've used in the states, the + is produced by hitting the * twice......that gives you + and then you dial 44-7970...
(alternatively, when calling from the states to the UK, you can dial 011-44-7970... )

While over there we've always just sent text messages, cheaper than a phone call.

on some phones, the + is achieved by holding down the * button for 2 seconds.
