Dh insists on bringing a sweatshirt & jeans in case it's cold at night out on the ocean.....please tell me it's not cold at night :confused3 . I told him he would not need it ~ it's Florida/Bahamas in August after all. We don't need a sweatshirt & jeans in MA at night in August :rolleyes2 !!

all this time I thought it was me that was the overpacker....now I know it's really him :rotfl:

We've cruised in Sept and Oct and never needed sweatshirts or pants. So i'd say it's a safe bet that you won't need them. :goodvibes

I get a lot of use out of a long-sleeved, zip up the front, light-weight sort of sweater/sweatshirt on each cruise. Yes, if the ship is moving at night, the wind can be chilly. Also, inside the ship can be chilly, too. I usually take a pair of jeans, too, but am fine with my shorts or dress as long as I have my "wrap".

we did not need any jackets. I was concerned about this too, but I was already packing too many things and decided that if we really needed a sweatshirt or jacket we would just buy them onboard.

Have fun.

I hate to say it but you may want to make sure you have a pair of pants if not jeans and a zip up sweatshirt or sweatshirt for inside places. At night I always had some type of light wrap. We went in early August last year. One afternoon I even wore light weight sweatpants to the movies because it's always so cold in there.

for me - I like bringing a sweatshirt...especially if I get a little sun (burned) at night sometimes I get a big chill....even in the Florida heat!

I don't think you will need a sweatshirt for outside. BUT, I always bring a sweater adn jeans for inside. Sometimes it is very cold on the ship, especially in the theatre. I do tend to get cold easily though, my husband thought it was fine and always wore shorts and a t-shirt (except for dinner of course :) )

I always take jeans and a sweatshirt. I have yet to need them on our cruises, but you never know.

If you like to get up earlier to see the sunset it is windy and a little chilli in the mornings, but that is basing it on October mornings.

Have a great cruise.

Yes! Take pants and a sweatshirt! That is the last thing you want to is to be freezing at night outside (or inside) and not enjoy yourself. Take them! You WILL wear them at one time or another.

You can pack 'em, but doubt you will need 'em.

well, he has 2 pairs of Dockers type pants for dinner so I don't think he will need a pair of jeans too. I'll give in and let him bring a lightweight long sleeve top but I'll let him think that it was my idea okay?? :rotfl:

Why not pack them? Then you have them on the very off chance you need them.
DW, who is always freezing was comfortable in a Tee Shirt and shorts on the very front of the ship, in front of the windscreen, in front of the basketball court at 11p.m on our New Years Eve cruise (read that as in December and January), so I don't think people need sweat shirts very often.
