I've been dealing with Michelle at MEI Travel for a few days. She got me a room at POP in Sept with free dining. I just made out my money order and sealed the Fed Ex Envelope (which I told her I would do because I don't have a credit card) when I realized....I don't know anything about MEI Travel. I know I came across their website through a Disney board that I frequent, but that's all I know.

Someone please tell me their legit!

I haven't heard of this one, but there's a lot of them out there.

I understand why you're not using a credit card, but why are you sending a money order instead of a check? And is it made out to her, her agency, or to WDW?

If you don't have a credit card, WDW takes checks and you have 14 days from making your reservation to get it to them...and you send it to them direct.......not to your travel agent or agency. I'd be leary about sending a money order...and would def not send it to the agency.

I've used a couple of diff agencies, and I've always been told to pay Disney direct.

:)

I don't have a checking account or credit card. It works out well all of the time except for vacations:confused3

I told the travel agent I would send a Money Order and she directed me to make it payable to their agency.

I'm sure that I'm just being overly cautious, however, I probably got caught up "in all of hte magic" of free dining to question the agency.

I DO NOT THINK ANYTHING IS UN-LEGIT WITH MEI TRAVEL, I WAS JUST HOPING SOMEONE ELSE HAS USED THEM!

They have a very pretty webpage. Here is what I found there about monies paid for travel...

However, if it's necessary to pay by check or money order your Vacation Planner can provide payment details. All check payments are received into a trust account held by Bank of America on behalf of you the customer. We only disburse these funds to the applicable suppliers when required. We do not use payments from one customer to buy travel on behalf of another or to pay for rent, overhead, or any use, until such time as we have delivered to you the services you have purchased.

Makes sense now. Travelling and only using cash is hard.

I'd ask your TA if you could send the money order to Disney direct. That way you know for sure where it's going. She should be able to give you the info to do that or pay with a prepaid credit card.

:)

I have dealt with the owner for a few years now. She is wonderful. Michelle has handled a few things for me here and there and she is very nice and great to work with.

I am very confident you will be very happy dealing with MEI travel.

DUH! I was too busy planning on where to eat (can we say FOOD PORN) that I didn't even think to check their website. DUH!

Thank you. I was pretty confident they were legit, it wasn't until I sealed my Fed Ex Envelope that I began to have second thoughts.

PS Michelle has been wonderful.

I have been dealing with Beci for our upcoming trip. Everything has worked out ok so far, I learned of them from the allears site. My biggest thing is I like to have control, so its hard for me to trust someone else, but other than that there are no complaints here.

You might already know this but if you use a US Postal money order and fraud becomes an issue you may have more protection than just a regular money order. It used to be a federal offense to cash postal money order fraudently. (sic)

I have used Beci and MEI/ Mouse Fan Travel for several trips. Beci is the owner and Michelle (and several others) works for her. I understand your worry, it is natural, but you are in fine hands.

Hi i agree with others here have use MEI for trips with no problems.
I disagree with sending money direct to Disney, that could get lost or misplaced by Disney too....and if allearsnet recommends them they are good in my book...
