QUICK... how can you tell if egg are bad?? I'm boiling some to dye for Easter.

I read somewhere that if an egg floats, it's no longer fresh. Fresh eggs should sink.

If all the eggs are in question I would just crack one and you'd know if it smelled bad. If it's just one of the eggs in question then I wouldn't take a chance and throw it out.

LOL, I was going to say to spank it anyway just to be sure. :teeth:

Jolie C... I think that is the answer I was looking for. I had some older eggs and was going to use them first, but when I put them in the water they stood on end. So then I put some of the fresh eggs I just bought in and they sank. So I kind of thought the ones that stood on end were bad. But your post just helped to confirm!! Thanks!

Dan... thanks, haha! Hey how is Marie doing? I'm sure you have posted this already, but I've been real busy. My mom had her MRI on Friday also, we get the results Tuesday.

Serena... LOL, Bad Egg! Bad Egg!!!

how long ago did you buy them?? Cause usually older eggs are better to boil

I would check the egg's friends that it hangs out with........what kind of eggs are they.....if they are bad eggs, then most likely, so is yours..............

When I started to boil mine the other day, 1 egg floated! I had never seen that before! Of course, when the rest of them started to chirp (you'd have to find my other post for the story of my 'killing the chicks'!:teeth: ), my kitchen was full of all sorts of choas! :hyper:
