Please tell me how busy the parks are during Halloween time(oct 29- nov1) compared to summertime(August) We have never been during Oct before and would like to know what I am in for:rolleyes1
Thanks!!!!

It does seem to be a lot busier during October due to Halloween time. We went last year, around early to mid October and experienced two back to back "Full Capacity" days which is when the Disneyland park reaches its maximum guest capacity limit and closes park admission to newly arriving guests. Absolutely not fun being stuck in that crowd!

And I just got back yesterday. Arrived Wed. Oct. 6th and the crowds were great, very low. Thursday still pretty good, Friday and little more busy, but Saturday and Sunday were both terrible! Very crowded, long longs, and HOT! We did attended the Halloween Party on Friday, candy lines were long but well worth the wait, we were so busy with Trick or Treating that we only went on the Pirates ride but the ride was practically empty, Splash Mountain seemed calm too. I'm assuming Space Mountain was busy but most likely not as busy as during regular park hours - reached 85 to 90 minutes on Saturday. A castmember also commented on the crowds and too agreed that the October month seems to be busier.

On Friday night, the night of the Halloween Event, we had been in the park earlier but went back to the hotel to get ready, returned around 7:30 after the park had closed to the general public and California Adventure which was scheduled to close later had a huge mob of kicked-out DL guests waiting to get in, can't begin to imagine how crowded DCA must get during Halloween nights!

Friday was also the opening of ElecTRONica at DCA, plus it's Columbus Day weekend, so those definitely contributed to crowds. But Halloween has become a popular time to visit so I would expect crowds all month long.

Oh I had know clue we were going to run into a 3 day weekend, yes that probably did contribute to the weekend crowds because it was pretty crazy and miserable. I wanted to check out ElecTRONica but didn't, we walked past it on opening night as it was going on but I figured it was probably like Glow Fest which I didn't really care much for, but was curious just to take a peek but it wasn't a mutual group decision.

I'll second the PP... we just came back from Wed-Sun (6th-10th)... Wed & Thurs were great, Friday was busy, but we went to the MHP, and that was a breeze for rides, Saturday night was the busiest I have ever seen it (granted we go in May usually), but it sucked by ROA... Pirates & HM had what looked like 2 hour waits (they did not update the signs), and Jungle Cruise was at least an hour... they actually announced that the ROA viewing area was FULL and no more people would be allowed in for the 9 pm F! around 8:15 pm. I had never heard that before. Sunday was freakin' hot but much better line wise than Saturday--as long as you had FPs for HM and Splash etc...

I would assume the closer you get to Halloween that very busy will be the story.

Hopefully that means this weekend will be slower with two big events and a holiday in the last 2 weekends. Keeping fingers crossed. pixiedust:

If you look at the Annual Passes schedule, October is the only month open for all types of AP's (SoCal, Delux, Prem, etc.)

Early Oct for the HMP is not too bad but the closer you get to Halloween, the worse it gets

Thanks for the input..... looks like i should maybe add a couple of days in Nov for some less busy time.......:hippie:

We are going this Sunday, Monday, Tues. 17th -19th and am hoping for lighter croweds but expect the large croweds.

Also, if I recall correctly, the CHOC walk is also this weekend (Sunday). That may not affect the crowds inside the park as much but will make for a very crowded DTD area on Sunday morning.

October used to be my favorite time of year to go. Even on the weekends it was pleasantly non-crowded (or would that be uncrowded...if I am making up new words here, LOL). Not anymore, LOL.

OH NOES! So it might be crowded this Friday the 15th?? That is when I will be there. :/

We were in CA Friday night and I would have rated it just slightly lower than Christmas but above summer. The walkway between bugs land and tot was gridlocked! We ended up leaving early.
However I was in DL on the tues and wed. It had rained. We didn't wait more than ten min. We rode splash three times without having to get out of the log.
