We were at POP for DDP 8/16 - 8/22: myself, DD 11 and DS 8. We've never used the DDP before. Our experience:
TS: We had ADR's for Sci-Fi, Le Cellier, WCC, Boma, Chef Mickey's, and Crystal Palace (the last two for breakfast). Wait times were minimal - we waited less than ten minutes everywhere except Le Cellier, where we checked in 20 minutes ahead of time and were warned that they were 20 minutes behind in seating and we did end up waiting 40 minutes for the table. At WCC we checked in half an hour early and were seated immediately. Service varied: Shayne at Le Cellier was very personable but a little slow; our server at Sci-Fi (did not write down name) was openly disapproving that we did not eat all our food; Amy (I think) at Boma was also very friendly and sweet but we did not see her much; Tami at WCC was the best for perfectly judging the amount of antics our family would enjoy. No one seemed to act differently because we were on the DDP.
CS: What can I say? It's CS. We ate most of our meals at the Pop food court, which was adequate. At first it seemed to offer a wide variety, but by week's end I was heartily sick of everything there. AKL has the best CS, in our family's opinion. We enjoyed Flame Tree and Pizzafari, as always. CM's were knowledgeable about the DDP but some were visibly frazzled by repeated questions and attempts to get more out of the plan than allowed. After standing behind a man for several minutes while he tried to basically double the amount of food due to him, I asked the CM if the DDP was driving her nuts and received a heartfelt, "Yes, ma'am!"
Snacks: It was nice to have such a selection, although for some reason we didn't use up all our credits before checkout. We had Mickey head ice cream, popcorn, soda, candy, and Mickey head rice krispy treats. Yum!
All in all, even if we had paid for the plan, we would have saved a ton of money, so we are likely to purchase the DDP for future visits if WDW offers it. OTOH, the Free Dining promotion brought huge crowds, more than I've ever seen at WDW, which was not fun. It truly became a trade-off: free food in exchange for attractions. Even EMH was out of control. While I like the DDP, we will not take advantage of Free Dining again, preferring to visit during a less busy time.
If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to try to answer them!
