I'll keep this quick as I dont have many pics to post. Will try to answer common questions and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
About me: 6th DCL cruise, 1st on the Dream.
Embarkation: We had a 1-1:30 check-in time. We go to the port at 12:15, parked, checked in, and walked right on the boat. We got boarding number 23 and they were already on 28 or something. Very easy. I'm glad we didn't get there at 11am as usual or we would have had to wait. My guess is if you get there close to your port arrival time, you will be good to go.
Cabin: We were in stateroom 8144--closer to aft, port side. Felt very little motion, had a nice view. I would make sure to be on the starboard side next time so we could see Castaway Cay and the fireworks from our balcony. Got a good view of the ugly Carnival ship next to us in Nassau. Was nice to be close to aft elevators!
Kids Clubs: Kids loved the kids clubs as always, didn't miss the pirate ship slide from the Magic and Wonder. So many cool features and programs. One thing we didn't care for was that most nights they had 'secure' programming in either the Club or Lab and "Open house" in the other. The Open House meant parents could go in and stay with their kids, but not drop them off. These were usually empty, which meant the other side had all the kids ages 3-10 in one area and it was crazy and loud, i'm sure it scared some people off. Not us, but we still didn't like the idea of our 3 turning 4yo DD in with 10 year olds.
Pools: no problems here, we were always able to find a spot. Kids loved the pool and nemos reef
AquaDuck: Lots of fun...rode it first thing when we boarded and was a 10 minute wait. Every other time we saw it it was at least 30 minute wait. We also rode twice late the last night and there was no line at all from about 10pm til midnight.
Quiet Cove: Nice area, seemed bigger than the area on the Magic (it IS a bigger ship after all). Loved the hot tubs with the clear floor. The pool was not as small as it seemed from all the pics. nothing to worry about as it was never crowded from what I could tell.
Strange things: Being able to look down at the staterooms with the extra large balconies, you would think they would be more 'private'...aft elevators let out in the middle of Cabanas, meaning you have to walk through in your bathing suit if you're using those elevators. no problem, just kind of awkward
Crowds: We never felt crowded. There were noticeably more people than on the Magic/Wonder at deck parties, etc but that is to be expected. I think there is so much going on at all times it really thins the crowds out in all the different areas.
Shows: Golden Mickeys and Villains Tonight were both very good, same as we saw on the Magic and Wonder except for Golden Mickeys has some new parts with Rapunzel and something else was different I can't remember.
Disney's Believe was really good. Not as good as Dreams IMO...it started off kind of slow, but by the end there was not a dry eye in the theater. A couple production problems that I notice but probably nobody else did (crackling mics, computer/lighting glitches).
See ya Real Soon: We did the 4:15pm 'goodbye' show, it was just the main Disney characters--Mickey, minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Donald and Daisy. On the Magic I remember just about every character you could think of was there. I heard at the 10:15 it was the same plus a couple of the princesses. There was a 4pm matinee of Believe going on at the same time so maybe that's why.
Overall we had a great time exploring the new ship, enjoyed the new features and will see them real soon. We try and go about every 6 months or so depending on what kind of deal we can get.
Any questions let me know i'll answer what i can.
