Chef Mickeys: I booked here to avoid long lines at the parks to meet characters. Also, it was just a hop away from the Poly. I was expecting icky food, and the expectations were met. I was expecting good character interactions, and luckily those expectations were met. I would go again, if only because I would avoid those park lines.
Tusker House Breakfast: It was pretty good! There was a good variety and everything was prepared as I would expect at a buffet. We went here on day 3 of the trip, and what a joy it was to eat fresh fruit! My 5 year olds ate a plate full each. The characters were scattered and we waited 20 minutes after our meal just to M+G Mickey and Goofy.
'Ohana for dinner: Huge disappointment. Average salad (heard it was amazing?), cold noodles which lacked flavor. Tough dumplings and non-crispy wings. Overcooked meat and peel it yourself shrimp. That must be why they work so hard on dessert, because the rest of the meal was subpar. Would not be returning if it weren't for DH who enjoyed it.
Whispering Canyon Cafe for lunch: Best meal so far!! Juicy burger, homemade chips, everything was wonderful!! Loved the antics of the servers and enjoyed watching the response when my daughter asked for ketchup.
Was pleased to see meaty macaroni instead of chickennuggetschickennuggetschickennuggetschickennuggets.
Chefs de France for dinner: Ick. Yuck, yuck, yuck. Nothing about the bread they brought out was french, even if they called it a baguette. Single serve wrapped butter pats are unacceptable at a restaurant that charges $35.00 for a main. I ordered the short ribs, and it tasted like my MIL's pot roast (NOT a compliment) and canned Heinz gravy. The sauce was supposed to have cabernet in it, I guarantee no grapes were harmed in the making of this sauce. Mac and cheese for the kids (they split the dish) was grainy and not baked for longer than it took to brown the top. Come on!!
Via Napoli for lunch: Delish!! Fresh Mozzarella, whole, recognizable ingredients. I will definately return for more next time.
Cinderella's Royal Table: I don't know what's worse, that we are at CRT and there is pizza and chicken nuggets on the menu, or that I let my children have pizza and chicken nuggets. I just couldn't argue at Cindy's house. I got the chicken pasta, which was divine. Smooth, not grainy sauce. Chicken was a bit overcooked, but the bursts of flavor from the sauce made up for it. I was quite pleased. Until I got the smallest piece of dessert on the planet. Flourless chocolate cake was smaller than 2 fig newtons #insulted.
1900 Park Fare for Breakfast: Food was delish! Loved the lobster eggs benedict, went back for a second helping of that. Tried and dismissed the strawberry soup, I had to see what the fuss was about, but it didn't float my boat. The hashbrown casserole was inconsistent, loved my first helping, the second had a different flavor profile. Loved the fresh fruit again. My stomach didn't agree with this meal though, neither did DH's stomach of steel, which gives me pause. Although the food was good, I wouldn't return here because of how we felt afterward. This was our last day and the only time any of us were feeling poorly after eating.
