QUICK! CM question!

Ok, on Sunday I'm going to a CM crop, but I'm leaving town today. My question is, if I don't use the CM style albums, how can I make a page there that I can use later without insulting the CMC? Thanks for any and all advice!!

The CMC should not be offended; however that doesn't mean she won't be. I wouldn't be, nor would my upline, but some CMC's are very weird about using only CM stuff.

I was once invited to a crop by a CM rep - she called me about an hour beforehand and asked that I not bring ANYTHING with me that wasn't CM - I said, how about if I don't bring myself! This was a few years ago, but I never forgot it and found a new CM rep. I love CM stuff, only use CM albumns, but I LOVE all of the other stuff too!

I have only had a slight problem with one CM person. But luckily I did have one CM book to work on. What I would do if I didn't plan to work on my CM I just brought the pages with me and not the album. That way they thought I just wall papered...

you can do the layout on the page she gives you -
then when you get home just cut off the edges and either put it in your book like that or mat the whole page onto cardstoclk to make it true 12X12 (if you do that make sure you leave space at the top and bottom of the layout to chop off too so you will have even 'frame'

Here's another idea - just go to the crop without your album and get her to help you make borders. She should have lots of ideas about how to use the punches, etc to make good borders that you can use in your top-loading albums. I agree some CMCs are really cultish about the CM stuff. That's why I'm not one anymore.

Thanks for the advice guys! I just took some white cardstock and acted like I wallpapered....She had figured it out by the end, but it was ok...I do love my corner rounder that I bought today, way better than my other one!!

Wow.... guess I lucked out. The first (and only ) time I went to a CM party/crop, I lugged along most of my normal scrapping stuff. Didn't know any better! She didn't seem the least bit put out or offended. Maybe she just didn't let on..... but I did use the CM "method" that day and love the page I made! And it fits just fine in the album!.......................P

I just started scrapbooking, and went through a CM rep (also mom to my DS best buddy). My DH was converted to scrapbooking by the nurses he works with- they adopted him into their lunch group and got him started. So I brought all his supplies with me to show her what I'd be starting with. Not at all offended- only suggested I might want to stay away from any supplies that aren't acid/lignin free (new one on me ). She did tell me that other CM reps might take a different look at my contraband, but to use it if it worked for me.
