Leaving in 3 days, Can you take tanning stuff (either lotion or spray)?? Reason I ask is that I know our luggage wont be at the resort right away and we dont want to get burned while waiting either by the pool or at the parks.
Thanks,,,, ºOº oh also contact lens solution(would that be considered medication?)

Tanning lotion must be 3.4 oz/100 ml or smaller and fit into your quart size baggie for liquids/gels. Contact solution, I just put in my checked luggage, although I had a small container of Visine for contacts in my baggie. Didn't need it, though. :) Have a great trip!

Hey we are leaving in 3 days as well, out of PHL! I just asked this ? on another thread because I have NOT been able to find small containers of sunscreen for our carryons-- so someone suggested just using an empty shampoo container or whatever and filling it from your squeeze package. Not ideal for getting it back out but I will probably do this.

Here's to a great trip!

Walmart and Target both have the travel size sunscreen in their travel section. It is like a trial size, perfect size for a carry on and also great to keep in your bag while touring the parks.

Walgreen's has its own brand of sunscreen in three ounce tubes. Call ahead to make sure it's in stock.

Banana Boat makes "bonus" packs. They're L-shaped full-size bottles, with smaller-than-3-ounce bottles filling the rest of the space.

Putting sunscreen in an empty (and washed out and dried) shampoo bottle is another good idea - just remember that's what's in the bottle, and don't wash your hair with it!

Do NOT put liquids you want to take on a plane into those generic travel bottles. Despite those being apparently smaller than three ounces, since the bottles are not labeled the TSA is likely to reject them.

Note: where I've said "three ounce", Debbie is actually correct. Despite the TSA website and advertising stating a 3 oz. limit, the actual limit - due to the widespread use of the metric system - is 100 ml, which equals 3.4 ounces.

If the bottle is plastic and it doesn't bulge, you can walk right through the metal detector with the sunscreen in your pocket.

Just and FYI; I got scared about what you wrote about generic travel bottles so I looked on the TSA website which did not state that generic bottles were prohibited so just to be safe I called the TSA and talked to a customer service rep. I was told that any bottle is fine even generic bottles as long as the bottle is marked with how many ounces the bottle holds somewhere on the bottle. I asked if I should lable the bottles with the contents but he said it is not necessary as long as the bottle is marked with the ounces. I already labled mine though. I think where someone might have a problem is with the old bottles made before the liquid ban because a lot of those were over 3 ounces and none of my old ones were marked with how many ounces they held since it was not an issue then.

I am hoping this helps someone like me who went out and bought the new clearly marked 3 ounce bottles and have them filled and ready to go when we leave. I panicked picturing having to dispose of my sunscreen and favorite shampoo that I will have in my generic 3 oz bottle in my quart size baggie.

Walmart has travel size sunscreen. I also bought All liquid for laundry in the 2 load size. I was going to buy Wisk tablets but couldn't find them.

take a travel size, it really goes a long way, esp. since you'll only really need it on exposed arms, face, neck. Or you can buy a can/tube at the airport or parks. Of course, you will have to pay the higher price!

CVS Pharmacy has a 3oz sunscreen in their house brand. It's only 1.99. If you will need more than 3oz on your first day, you can always buy two and carry them both through in your quart sized ziploc baggies.
