Still trying to make that resort decision  and I'm just realizing that the BC does not have a counter service rest., and the only rest. that serves b/f is the Cape May and that's full blown....

What do you do for a "quick breakfast" - ie just coffee for DH and milk / cereal for the kids?

Room service not an option - I need the alone time to shower/make myself beautiful.... ;)

Well, I like a full breakfast so I can't be sure because I didn't check the last time we were there, but as of last year, Beaches and Cream did sell pastries, coffee and such for breakfast. Also, Yacht Club Galley has a good breakfast, not as extravagant as Cape May, but it is a sit down.

I'm not a big breakfast eater myself (coffee and a muffin are perfect for me), so I just grab something in the parks at one of the vending carts for example, or someplace like the bakery on Main St. in the MK. Your family could go ahead and grab some breakfast at a place like that and do some people watching/window shopping/fast-pass grabbing/etc. while you get ready, and you could meet them at whatever park you're going to that day. Not sure if this will be feasible for you, but I figured I'd share it just in case!

Have a great day!

Boardwalk Bakery-really good, fresh baked goods, breads, bagels, croissants, rice crispie treats, Jam Butter-a short 5 min walk away. I think Spoodles on the boardwalk is also open at 7:30am for breakfast.

The lobby bar in the YC sells muffins, bagels, donuts, cereal, coffee, juice, etc. I don't know if the BC lobby does the same, but it would be a short walk to the YC lobby. :)

The BW Bakery is also great, but it's a little farther. We walked over there one morning and then got the bus from the BWI.

Also we love the Main St. Bakery at MK. And Tusker House at AK. :)

Hey Giggle: We were at the BC this past December. The BC now serves a quick breakfast in the lounge area (Rip Tide I believe is the name)which is adjacent to the lobby. I believe they had several types of danish, doughnuts, coffee, juices, and cereals. The quick breakfast was offered at the Beach & Cream restaurant but now has been moved to the lounge areas at the YC & BC.

Beaches and Cream offers a selection of cold cereals, pastries, juice, milk, etc. for reasonable prices, it's kind of set up counter service, you go through the line, no waiting.

I think one of the easiest things we did on our trip was bring a couple of boxes of cereal with us. Our boys ate it for breakfast and for snack. They are picky and eat it dry so they even brought it with us on our early mornings. My husband and I would grab a muffin and we bought a breakfast snack for us too. Have a great trip.

In case your DH likes something more than a pastry, the BW Bakery offers a couple of warm breakfast sandwiches such as a ham/egg biscuit or a tortilla with egg and sausage. Also, they will warm up any of the pastries if you ask.

As of November '02, Beaches & Cream doesn't have the quick breakfast. They moved it to the lounge area off the lobby. Very limited selection.

Yacht Club Galley offers a smaller buffet and ala carte selections. Although I haven't tried any of them for breakfast, the Swan and Dolphin also have restaurants that serve breakfast.

If we knew we wanted just a light breakfast we would often go to the BW Bakery the night before and take it back to the room for the next morning.

You will LOVE BCR! It's my family's favorite so far. Like the others have suggested, we walk over to the bakery at the Boardwalk in the morning. We've done it 2 ways. I like a morning walk anyway so while the other are getting dressed I run over and bring pastires back. OR we all get ready and go over together. You can sit at tables out by the water. Then when you're done use the bus stop at BWI since you're over there anyway. My thinking is these are pastries from "France" in Epcot since they are practically back to back. They are worth the stroll and if you request a room near "Epcot" it will be a very short stroll to both Epcot AND the bakery.

I totally agree-worth the walk. (Great for Breaky or for that little pick me up in the afternoon)

We always bring along a couple of boxes of breakfast bars such as Nutra-Grain bars, and we just eat those for breakfast in the room. It saves time AND $$. We stop on the way to the hotel to get milk and bottled water on the 1st day. I'm not a big out-to-breakfast person, though, so I don't mind not eating our WDW breakfasts in a restaurant :)
