Assume AP rates come out for my June dates.

We need a room for 8 nights (June 14-22).

Some friends want to come for 7 nights (June 15-22).

I know I can reserve up to 3 rooms with my AP, but do they have to be on the same ressie? They would stay at the same resort, just check in a day later than us. I would be there with my AP to check in....

Any problem with this?

Thanks, Duds

Anyone know the answer?

I think they all have to be on the same ressie and have to be paid for by the passholder. I am not 100%, hope it works out for you!

I can be a separate reservation and in your friend's name--you just need to be there at check in to show your AP.

I agree with Sue Ellen. I plan to get some family members an AP room while we are there.

Last June I made reservations for my SIL in her name with my AP discount. She didn't stay the entire time we were there. I just had to be there when she checked in. It worked out fine.

You can make up to 3 reservations with one AP.

:cool1:

We had the same experience as Sue Ellen says. DW and I were at the WL for 7 nights and my sister just for two nights. I made both reservations on my AP card. The ressie was in my sisters name and she paid for it.

Did a reservation on my AP for my BIL and SIL at All Star Music. We stayed at AKL. Went to their hotel with them for check-in and was never asked to show my AP (then again, never showed my AP at AKL for my check-in)

Oh thats good to know! I didn't think you could do multiple resorts. That will come in handy for our family trip next year!

I just got off the phone with CRO. What most of you are saying is correct. I can make a ressie for my friends.

Here is what they told me to do.

Make ressie in their name and have my name noted on the ressie as the AP holder so they can get the AP rate. I would have to be there at check in to get the AP rate. I do not have to be there at check out.

Thanks for your responses.

I called at the beginning of feb. and asked how many rooms we could get with our AP rate, CM said 1 per AP, and there must be an AP holder in each room. She set it up so DH & I are in separate rooms (on paper) so we could use the rate in those 2 rooms, 3rd room we can't get the AP rate. I thought we could get 2 rooms for each AP, but no.

It's 3 per AP. We've made up to 3 in the past.

:confused3 How were you able to do that? the CM I talked to said we had to have an AP holder in each room, is that what you did? Why wouldn't she let us use our AP's on our 3 rooms??? :confused3

I don't know why she told you that. I've reserved 4 rooms once and 3 were on my AP and one on my daughter's (she was over 18). That was a few years ago that I did 4. Last June I reserved 2 rooms on my AP, one for our family and one for my SIL and her DD. Neither had APs. I just had to be there when they checked in. But I've reserved at least 2 rooms over the past several years with my AP, in '99, '01, 02, & 04, with the 2nd room all occupied by non-AP holders. If they release AP discounts again for this June, I need to reserve 3-5 rooms, but my DH and 2 DDs as well as myself all have PAPs.

I've also read from others on this board that you could do 3 per AP, so it's not just me saying this.

You might want to call again to double check on this. Maybe the CM you were talking to was unaware that you could do up to 3 per AP. I haven't heard that they've changed this rule as far as I know.

You've convinced me I need to call and speak with another CM! I want to save all I can on the rooms, so we can spend more on other things!

Lori

You can reserve up to 3 rooms on 1 AP. I reserved 3 rooms at WL last August. We had 10 people and I was the only AP holder. No problem.

It is easy to do that if you are all on the same ressie. My original question was a little tougher because my friends will be checking in two days after us and then leaving a day after us, so I was concerned I could not get a room for them under a different confirmation number, but CRO said I can do it as long as I am there at check in to show the AP!

Very cool.

Lori, Were you able to get the AP discount on the 3 rooms? Just wondering if you called back.
