Can the trundle bed rooms hold a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) regardless of the ages of the kids? On this trip, our kids will be 11, 6, and 2, so I know we could conceivably stay at any resort if DS2 was in a packnplay. But I just want to know if we'll be able to stay at POR on subsequent trips or if it will be necessary to get 2 rooms or a villa. I hope this makes sense. Thanks :goodvibes

Yes, POR is designed for 5 with the trundle bed in the AB section. There is no charge for the 5th person if they are a child.

We have friends coming with us (family of 5). Their kids are 8, 5, and almost 3. The trundle bed was a huge plus for them.

Hope this helps.

We are also travelling in Aug 20-27 w/our family of 5 (kids are 2 9yo dd's & 2 yo dd). We're doing POR also. I'm figuring we'll be good at POR for the next few years until 2yo dd is about 6o7, but then we would most likely have to switch to one of the deluxes. We could do the 2 rooms, but my kids really like the water slides so 2 rooms at a value probably wouldn't be the best choice for us. We could do 2 connecting rooms at a moderate, but I think the price would be approx the same (not incl. and codes).
Hope that helps:)

When the time comes, don't discount the FW homes. We love them and they have the benefit of a kitchen.

Better get used to it! Having that 3rd kid will change how you vacation until they quit going on vacation. We learnd the hard way. I, too, recommend the Fort Wilderness Cabins.

Here is a brief description...

In addition, the rooms in Alligator Bayou contain a trundle bed that will sleep a child bringing the room occupancy total to 5. The Trundle Bed is intended to accommodate children under 9; or persons under 5 feet tall. They are narrower than a conventional bed.

We will be there in Oct..our kids are 9, 6, & 4.

We stayed at POR riverside last year. We had two adults and two children. My 6 year old nephew loved the trundle bed so much, he splet on it every night. He called it his secret bed.

My 63 yr old 5'7" mom and me 5'5" and a 1/2 took turns on the trundle bed and it was plenty comfy. We are both side sleepers so maybe my feet would have hung off the end if I stretched out but I don't think I moved after my head hit the pillow. I dunno though, after a day at the parks, I could have probably slept standing on my head in the bathtub! Seriously though, if it's comfy enough for two adults with arthritis, it should be just fine for kids.

Thanks for all the input everyone :flower: I appreciate it!
