Hello, I'm looking into AAA however I don't see Disney resorts listed in their member discount pages. Are these discounts limited to only certain sections of the county, similar to the ticket discounts?

They are probably not listed because the discount varies. AAA is alotted so many rooms (from what I understand).

Great thanks. I will just stop by their office in the morning, seems a bit odd it's not listed.

I know I've seen people say they booked online with AAA - but I've never been able to figure out how. All I see is a form to fill out and an agent will contact you???:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I've been moved :darth: !! Ha, my dad just calls Disney direct and gets the discount through them. There doesnt' seem to be a good reason why they don't list it. If I find out anything tomorrow I'll be sure to post it up.

I don't think that you can book a package online (and that may vary by area) but you can do a "hotel" search on the city Lake Buena Vista (or just "Disney World" will also work). That's how I check rates for certain times of the year. :thumbsup2

But if you click on the Disney Vacation links it just puts you to that online form. I've never bothered to try that ;)

An aside: Be sure to check AAA rates against the CRO rates, and any codes available. I just compared my AAA agent's best rate for a 4 nt with park tickets and dining package, against the CRO booking. The AAA rate was $1.12 MORE expensive! Wierd.
(And yes, I did ask for the AAA insurance to be removed, and confirmed the agent was pricing out the exact same package....).

You may find that the AAA rates are available for room-only (Mousesavers.com notes that sometimes AAA packages can reflect a discount but I haven't heard of it elsewhere nor has it been my experience.)

However, as with All Things Disney, you'll need to call both the AAA and Disney to check. (Case in point: my ressie made with the 40%-off PIN code this winter. Common wisdom says that you can't book a dining package with discounted rates -- excepting the free dining promotion --BUT Disney did allow dining to be added to this promotion after all....)

I checked the rates via AAA online first, to see what they were compared to what I could get through Disney online. Then I called WDW Reservations and booked using my AAA discount since there weren't going to be any Florida Resident's rates at that time. Got a preferred room at Pop for a little bit less than the AAA website showed. Also plan on purchasing FRSP through AAA before our trip in the fall. :yay:

I've never been able to book a package only a room. The discounts on room only are very good and really simple to book though.

Are you doing the booking from the AAA site or through CRO stating you have a AAA card? After I get my card tomorrow the wife and I are going to book a few night at CR on the back end of a 5 night family stay at CBR at the end of the year :woohoo:

I did my room only booking through our local AAA website and received a confirmation via e-mail. However, I was also able to book a room with AAA through Disney CRO (but later cancelled it and did it myself with AAA). You can definately do both though. As far as booking a package, I would have to call my local office to book with an agent, but we're not doing a package this trip.

Good luck and have fun!! :)

Well since I started the thread, I can take if off the original subject without penalty! As to the package, what benefits are there to book a package? We wouldn't be interested in meals, just tickets and rooms.
