Queue Testing @ Rock n' Roller Coaster Today

Thanks for the firsthand report!:)

I understood, that as opposed to the first test, this test would be utilizing the "lot" by RnRC used for the ESPN Zone during ESPN-The Weekend. Was that the case?

Also reports are this "Queueless System" "MAY" be "installed" during the upcoming refurb. As with almost ANYTHING at WDW,time will tell.:)

Thanks again for taking the time to post a firsthand report.:)

Yes, we were there and they were having the standby guests enter way to the right of the usual entrance. When we arrived there at about 9:40 after riding TSM (and getting a FP after with an 11:45 return) and riding TOT they said the standby wait was 80 minutes. We went on single riders and got into the preshow within 5 minutes and on the ride in about 5 minutes after that. I really recommend that for groups with all adults who don't care if they sit side by side. My daughter and I were in the same car, but I was in row 1 and she was in row 11.

How does the single rider line work? are there any changes to that part?

Nope.

But, we don't know if this "NextGen Queue" system (being tested) will become a permanent part of RnRC or not.

It IS officially slated to be a part of the new "Dueling Dumbos" attraction at MK after the new Fantasyland is completed.

Thanks for another firsthand report!:)

I rarely stand in a queue for more than 15 minutes,by using FASTPASS and Rope Drop strategies, but if this becomes permanent,I may have to try this "line" on purpose once!:)The pictures in the link from the PP make it look like it could be fun.:)

I think the nextgen idea is great for the standby line. So much of the hassle of waiting is not being able to sit or stay in the shade. I think a lot less sunburns are going to show up with this new system.

So, if you half 10 from 30 and put 15 into it while waiting, the net result is a little over 60. Don't forget to carry 35

So, if I read this thread right...they DID IN FACT bring back the queueless standby/take-a-number system to RNRC this week? And not some test at WWoS?

Oh my gosh, I was thinking the same thing. :lmao: Then I thought it was getting better and then I was lost again!! :rotfl:
The only Rock n' Roller Coaster Queue testing that I am aware of and the test I was asking about in my original question was the testing that took place AT the attraction.:)

It took place in the "lot" adjacent to Rock n' Roller Coaster where the "ESPN" Zone is held during "ESPN" The Weekend at Hollywood Studios,so my best "guess" is that that is where the confusion with "ESPN" Wide World of Sports came in,but that is just a wild guess.:)

I missed the update from studioscentral.com that jordancej posted...I don't know when it went up on the site because when WEDWDW posted I checked there. I wonder if it was a one day test? But it looks like they are trying to adjust for lessons learned from December. They also don't seem to be giving any sort of estimated callup times...

We were at DHS on Thurs, nothing new at RnR for us. Got FP and came back later.
Yes,Guests using FASTPASSES would not have experienced the Queueless testing for the Standby line.:)

I also LOVE FASTPASSES,but I think the Queueless system looks like it would be fun to try once. The tweens/teens in the pictures looked like they were especially enjoying it with the DJ,Guitar Hero, etc.:)

I think RNRC is a good candidate in general for such a system. For some reason that queue justs...fails. The standby times can suddenly jump by leaps and bounds. Most of it is outside and lacks any theming, and it has a sizable courtyard to do it.

Pure speculation on my part, but another candidate I can think of is Splash Mountain.

Splash just doesn't seem to "over-draw" as much as it used to.
They don't even need to open the FP distribution on most mornings and at other day-parts on many days.

I'd lean more toward BTM (maybe in a COMBO with Splash) or, the greater draw, Space Mn.

Just a guess on my part, too.

I didn't pick Space mainly because of it being an internal, well themed queue, if it does get a little annoying when you are stuck in there during a breakdown :)

BTM was another choice, but at least you periodically get to see the attraction, outside, etc. Splash is more sequestered and is nothing more than a rope maze, at least until you get in - and out - of the buildings.

But it is true, the giant morass of bodies in the Splash courtyard doesn't seem to happen often any more.

I expect the new system costs more - both in tech and manpower - and isn't likely to be widely used, but I would think they'd want at least a few of them so that one attraction isn't totally unique and confusing to the guests - if they encounter it a few times, they'll become more acclimatized to it.

Has the testing ended?

My understanding was that it was going to be a 2 day test.

Also, does anyone have any further info about the queueless system "possibly" being installed during the upcoming refurb?
Thanks!:)
