I have asked this before but didn't really get a good answer. Where ,exactly, are the taxi's located at all of the 4 parks? Is it less walking to use the monorail from mk or epcot to one of the hotels and then get a taxi from there to my resort-pofq? The buses are just soooo... Far out to walk when you have some foot & knee problems. Especially after a long day in the parks.

Where can i get a map of downtown disney market place?

How hard is doing a split stay? I will not have a car?

Thanks!!

Can't help with the taxi question. You might want to ask that on the Transportation board.

If you want to do a split stay you'd need a taxi to help move your luggage. Whether or not the split is worth it -- that all depends on your individual taste.

With doing split stay within two Disney Resorts, I think they will transfer your luggage for you, but I'd call and confirm.

For taxi, at MK, I'd take monorail to Contemporary then get taxi from there. You could get one at the TTC, but farther walk.
Epcot, depends on where your at. If World Showcase, I'd walk to Beach Club, if close to main entrance, Taxis are close.
AK taxis are to the left of the main entrance. Actually closer than bus stop.
DHS they are out front right by handicap parking.

It's much quicker to take the bus or monorail from MK or Epcot, than a taxi. At MK the taxis are at the TTC - so you have to monorail over there anyway - and it's a walk over to the monorail from MK exit - the buses are right at the park exit....at Epcot taxis are out where the offsite shuttle buses are - so again you'd be closer using a Disney bus.

At all 4 parks the Disney bus will a very close form of transportation (except at Epcot, where the monorail station is closer, but still walking is involved.) Is there a reason you don't want to use the Disney bus system? It will take you directly to POFQ, if you try to use the monorail to get to a resort to get a taxi to POFQ, it will take some time to do so. You may also have to change monorails, which I think involves quite a bit of walking in iteself.

Actually Epcot is the only park where taxis are closer than buses. The taxis are right near the first bus stop you reach after leaving the park. They are not in the off-site bus lot as a PP stated.

At MK you have to travel all the way to TTC by boat or monorail.
At HS the taxis are a short walk beyond the last Disney bus stops.
At AK its about 50-50. Turn left after leaving the park for taxis and turn right for the buses

The taxi stand is right there at the 1st set of buses, but they made me walk out to get in the cab by the offsite bus area. They said the taxis are not allowed to drive in the same area as the Disney bus flow. Maybe it's changed since then but it was quite a hike (through Disney bus traffic I might add) out to the waiting cab!

Getting cabs will have you walking almost as much as going to the appropriate bus stop will....depending on park and resort. But, it will most likely save you time, overall.

As far as split stays go....you can have Disney move your luggage for you. I always hand mine over first thing in the morning, and then head to a park until lunchtime. Then, I head to the 'next' resort and get checked in. Sometimes the room is ready, sometimes not. I then go about my day.
Luggage will show up around dinnertime...usually after 5ish. For the life of me I can't figure out why it takes so long to move luggage from one resort to another. Surely they could schedule two runs a day between resorts, but no....they leave it until mid-afternoon. And it doesn't make any difference whatsoever what resort I'm leaving and which resort I'm heading to. It always takes until very late in the afternoon.
