Questions regarding very early check-in...

At some point this summer we're going to be taking a whirlwind trip to WDW - driving down in the middle of the night, arriving in Orlando about 7am...

My questions are:

- Can we actually go straight to POP and go through the check-in process even though we can't have our room until later in the day?

- What is the earliest a room might be available....or is it ALWAYS 3pm?

We're aiming to be at the park at opening, but my elderly mom will be with us and I figure she will poop out midday and want to be dropped by the room ASAP.

Thanks!

You can check in at that time, and your room *might* be ready, but no guarantees. We've checked in before 7:15 five or six times, and sometimes our room has been ready. If you are willing to take whatever room is ready, you might have a better chance of getting it early.

If you don't care about room location - I would recommend doing the on-line check in before you arrive. It may increase your chances of having your room ready earlier. :)

The last time we went to WDW we drove straight through the night and arrived at around 7:30. We checked in first to get our tickets. I wasn't expecting our room to be finished until 3:00, but we were lucky and not only was our room ready, but they'd upgraded us to a prefered room! Not saying that will happen for you, but there is always a chance :)

I called about a year ago to find out what the earliest was so that we could get park tickets. If I remember it was 6am. We were there close to that time and our room was ready and a great location. But when I called they said if not ready they would get a phone number and text you the room number when ready. The key they gave you for park ticket would magically work on your room.

Thanks for the replies! That's awesome...I won't hold my breath but its nice to know it is a possibility. Even if it were ready by noon or 1 that would be great!

I totally agree. If you do online check-in, you are asked for your expected arrival time. If you put in 7:00 AM, your chances will improve, especially if you have no special requests.

However, you said you have an elderly mother so you might want to request first floor if she's going to need assistance. But Disney is great with that as well.

Good luck and roll the dice!
