Questions re: booking last-minute Platinum plan

Hoping someone who has booked a Platinum plan just a couple of weeks before going to WDW will respond.....

Are the IPO planners able to get reservations for La Nouba, Illuminations cruise, Victoria & Alberts, Child Care centers at Deluxe resorts on short notice? (It would be during a low attendance time in Jan. or Feb., if that makes a difference.)

We want to do a "Super 16" for DS, but can't commit until DH receives Christmas bonus. So I won't have a big window to make ressies. On the other hand, DS wants specifically to see La Nouba, fireworks cruise, etc.

I've never booked a platinum plan, but I know people upgrade their dining plans up to 72 hours before. You could possibly have a hard time getting reservations for all the tours at the last minute.

Although I've seen a short-notice IPO success story here and there, in general they do not have any different access than you would have. Obviously, going at a lower crowd time would stand a greater chance of success though.
