I was originally getting married at the WP at 5pm and having the reception in the whitehall til midnight. I have now added a dessert party at Sago Cay pointe and I don't think I'll have time to fit everything in. So, I'm trying to change the time of the wedding to 2.30pm instead. Do you think this is a better idea?

I also have a few questions regarding timing etc

1. How long does the actual wedding ceremony last?

2. How long are you planning on having photo's for?

3. How long does dinner/buffet take?

Thanks in advance

Yes it is agood idea to change the time to 2:30..if your reception is until midnight then when would your dessert party be?

1. It depends on how much you want involved in your ceremony like readings and such. Normally they are only 20 mins.

2. I had photos taken before and after the ceremony..I think we took pictures for an hr after the wedding ceremony.

3. I would guess dinner would take about 45 mins to an hr...when I had my at home reception we had a buffet and it was about an hr for everybody to get food and eat. I had 64 guests.

Sometimes people have their wedding, start their reception at the GF convention center venue, go out to the Marina/Sago Cay Pointe for their dessert party, and then go back to the ballroom/Whitehall for the rest of the reception.

It depends on when Wishes is that night. This year on May 17-20 Wishes was shown at 10pm. So if that's the same as on your wedding day next May, your schedule might be:

Ceremony: 5pm- 5:30pm

PreReception (while bride & groom take pix): 5:30-6:30

Dinner & first part of reception: 6:30pm-9:30pm

Wishes Dessert Party: 9:30pm-10:30pm

Rest of Reception: 10:30p-midnight

we did what you are talking about doing.. and we had plenty of time.
Nothing felt like it was cut short.. and by the time the fireworks went off at 10, we were ready to go!
There was plenty of time for pictures, dinner, dancing, cake, and the DP! The only thing we could have done with extra time was dance.. and I think everyone was just to tired to keep going after the DP...
I would have liked to go back and party after the DP.. so it is something to consider..but if you do want to keep your wedding at 5, you have plenty of time for everything else!

Thanks for the responses :thumbsup2 After discussing this with DF, we (he) decided that we were going to move the ceremony to 2.30pm. He wanted to have more time do mingle/dance etc. We have the DP booked from 8.30 to 10.30 (depending on the time of wishes that night), and are gonna go back to the Whitehall for dancing after. So, I have now the changed the time to 2.30pm and am just in the process of telling Randy Chapman, officiant and beaute speciale.

We are scheduled for a 3 hour appointment and I don't really know what time to ask her to come :confused3 How long before the ceremony should I be arriving at the WP? How long should I estimate for the bride photo's before? I'm staying about half an hour away from Disney.

Well I had my ceremony at ten and Ana and Lily came to my room at 5:00 AM!! She had me done by 8:30 so I had an hr for pictures.

It depends on how many people you have in your bridal party. They will tell you what time they should come.
