Hey Everyone! I'm the usual- a newbie to Universal but a veteran to Disney. It's just me and my boyfriend (25, both of us), we're spending one day at WWOHP/IOA and one day at the studios, staying on Disney property, going 10/1-10/9. We're planning on doing a tuesday and a thursday, and have a few questions..

1. I know Universal doesn't need as much planning as Disney- but is there a certain order to go about doing the rides in the theme park? I'm trying to become as familiar as possible with Universal maps, etc etc... any tips?

2. Reservations- I'd like to make reservations to eat lunch in the parks.. how far in advance should I do this? Or can I just walk up?

3. Is one full day for each park enough time? We plan on being there as early as possible!

Thanks in advance everyone... I know these are frequently asked questions!

No planning really needed. Just go by what the lines are. It shouldn't be very busy while you are there. One full day at each park should be there. You shouldn't need any reservations for lunch.

I was at WWoHP the first time today - I had a brief break from my annual passhood due to a touch of financial embarrassment, but I've been an AP at Universal and Disney for most of the last 13 years. I think now that we are past Labor Day, the crowds won't be so nuts. I didn't see FJ get above a 10 minute wait between 9 and 11, the times I was there. If you wanted to play it safe and head to WWoHP first thing, you should be totally fine going to Jurassic Park or Lost Continent and touring in a circle from there. You might want to group all of your water rides together, though - Jurassic Park, Ripsaw Falls and Popeye and Bluto's Barges. Then you can change clothes to be dry for the rest of your day. JP (the island) and Toon Lagoon are right next to each other, so it's not difficult to group the water rides.

I'm embarrassed to say I've never been to Mythos, and that's one place that you might check into reservations, if you specifically want to go there. Otherwise, I've never had to get a reservation to eat where I wanted, in either park. I adore Finnegan's in US, I love their Irish cuisine, and they have a nifty and friendly bar. Going early in October, 2 days should be sufficient, and you really should be good on crowds - at least during the day. If you decide to do HHN on that Thursday night - well, that's a whole 'nother thread ;) .

Enjoy your trip, I'll bet you have a fabulous time!!
