ok so I looked into bidding on rooms and has anyone ever felt ok doing this when you cant know where the hotel is until after you pay? And can you upgrade once you get the room ressies

someone heard say that if you take down their description and put it in Google - that Google will find the hotel for you.

I don't know about upgrades.

Check out www.biddingfortravel.com for great information on bidding for hotel rooms. You'll get information on how the process works and can see what other people have had for successful bids. I've used it a couple of times to guide me on bids and it's worked well for me.

We use Priceline all the time, and have never been disappointed. You get to pick the area you want to stay in, as well as the star level of hotel. The savings are huge! Do read www.biddingfortravel.com before you start to bid, though.

With PL you specify a zone and * level and then place a "bid". If your bid is rejected and you add a zone that only has lower * properties you have a "free rebid". If your "bid" is accepted your credit card is charged and no changes or cancellations are permitted. biddingfortravel.com is a great resource.

With Hotwire you're given a price and a list of amenities. In some cases you can identity the hotel based on the amenities. betterbidding.com is a great resource.

With Easy Click you're given a detailed description for their off the record hotels. You can almost always identify the hotel with a google search. I believe most of those reservations can be changed.

Some hotels offer a pre-paid non-cancellable, non-changeable rate on their websites.

Some properities charge a resort fee which is extra.
