Our up-coming February trip will be our first experience being on the dining plan and I'd love to get some help with a couple of basic questions.

1) We are trying to decide whether it's worth it to also buy the refillable mug at the resort. For those of you who have been on the dining plan, do you also get the refillable mugs at the resort or does being on the dining plan make that unnecessary?

2) In the morning, I usually like to head over to the resort food court for a muffin or bagel and coffee for breakfast. If I just get a muffin and pay for the coffee separately, can I use my snack credit for the day for the muffin?

I appreciate the help!

If you like to drink bottled water and/or powerade when you visit the parks, then a refillable mug would be nice for you. They cost about $12.50 w/ tax. If you think you'll fill it a few times (4-6) then you'll probably get your money's worth and have a souvenier to boot. I used it for coffee in the mornings, frozen cokes, apple juice, and soft drinks in the daytime/evening hours. My kids drank a lot of hot cocoa in theirs. If we were at our resort for a meal on the DDP, we chose a bottled water or powerade and just brought it alone with us to the parks while using our refillable mug for our beverage for the meal.

You can use your snack credit(s) all at once or one at a time. When you check in, you'll have a bank of them to use as you like.

So yes, you can use a snack credit for a bagel or muffin (or a whole box of entemann's donuts!) and enjoy it with your morning coffee.

Have a fun trip.

We had the DDP and bought the mugs. We used a snack credit for a muffin and refilled with coffee in the mornings. We typically returned to the food court when we got back from the parks to refill with a frozen drink.

If we ate at the food court we saved the credit from the drink and used it for more snacks. Overall, I think it was worth it. We love that we have a souvenir as well. The only souvenir I have from the DDP is a couple of extra pounds!!

We had the DDP and still bought the mugs. It worked out really well. For the CS meals we would always get a bottle of water. And then just filled our mugs with whaterver we planned on drinking. It was usually an icee for the sweetpea.

I wasn't sure what you meant by that. Did you mean that when you had a counter-service meal at the foodcourt, if the cashier saw that you had the refillable mug, they gave you an extra snack in place of the beverage that would have come with the meal?

Thanks.

I got the refillable mug while on the dining plan. I did the breakfast thing like you mentioned, used a snack credit to get a crumb cake and used my mug to get a hot chocolate. When we returned from the park for the evening I would go up and get a soda before the munchkins went to sleep so I would have something in the room with me. Basically I got about 15 refills while I was there, money well spent in my opinion.

My daughter had a refill mug at AKL and we shared the drinks at breakfast at Mara from it :thumbsup2 before I get slatted I didnt have much of it and bought most drinks on the ddp
