Hi all, I've been combing the Internet trying to find some specifics on how the Agent P game works, and just can't find the info I'm looking for as I plan our next trip. Maybe someone here can help? My questions are:

1. Can you go from any of the 4 pickup locations to any of the 7 host countries or are your choices limited (e.g. Norway pickup only has Mexico, Norway, and China)?

2. Once you pick it up, do you have a limited time to actually start it?

3. Once you start it, can you take a break in the middle, such as to grab some food or watch a show? Is there a time limit on how long you have to complete each adventure?

4. I've seen some conflicting, or possibly outdated, info online. Is it possible that the answers to these questions change depending on time of year, how busy the park is, or just general demand for the game?

Much thanks to anyone who can drop a little knowledge down!! :)

(I just accidentally posted the same thing in the wrong forum. Sorry for the repost as I try to delete the other one!!)

I'm not sure how many of your questions I can answer because it has been a while since I played the game, but I'll try.

I picked up my Agent P phone at the booth near the entrance to the World Showcase by the fountain. I was told that I had the choice of three places that I could play. Mexico was one of them and I opted for that one because it was inside. They swiped my room key in case I didn't return the phone(I think there's a charge if you don't) and told me that I could either bring it back to them or drop it in the drop box when I finished the game. A picture of the drop box comes up on the phone when you finish and I dropped it in there instead of walking back to where I got it. I was asked if I thought I wanted to do more than one game, but I opted for only the one. I think there may have been a time limit placed on the game before the phone stops working, but I don't remember what it was(maybe 2 hours). It really only takes about 15-30 minutes to finish the game. There were a couple of other people playing at the same time I was so I had to wait for a couple of seconds at some of the spots. All in all, I had fun playing the game.

We played it last year.

1. Can you go from any of the 4 pickup locations to any of the 7 host countries or are your choices limited (e.g. Norway pickup only has Mexico, Norway, and China)? We picked up the FONE (old style flip phone) in one of the sign up stations within WS and were given a choice of any country we wanted. The F.O.N.E. will give you information and step by step instructions on what to do, where to go, what to look for during the adventure.

2. Once you pick it up, do you have a limited time to actually start it? We picked a nearby country because the FONE gave us 30 minutes to start a mission.

3. Once you start it, can you take a break in the middle, such as to grab some food or watch a show? Is there a time limit on how long you have to complete each adventure? You can take a break anytime you wish. We always finished a mission first, but I imagine if you stop in the middle it will restart at that point, but I'm not certain. You will have to stop at a sign up station to have the FONE reactivated if enough time has elapsed and it turned itself off.

4. I've seen some conflicting, or possibly outdated, info online. Is it possible that the answers to these questions change depending on time of year, how busy the park is, or just general demand for the game? I imagine that some things could change based on how busy the park is, etc, but the adventures themselves won't.

My answers in red above. Also:

If you ever did the Kim Possible adventures, the Agent P mission uses the same phone and many of the same special effects, but additional effects were added and the story lines are obviously now about Agent P and Doofenschmirtz.

Here are a couple of threads on the Agent P adventures:
This one is from 18 months ago, but I would guess that most of it about Agent P in World Showcase is still pretty accurate:

From our experiences during our visit last month:

  1. During our visit, our options were based on how many other people were playing and on which countries were not full of players yet. The CMs were good at being clear with us about what options were available. On one day, Mexico's adventure was down, so we couldn't do that one at all.
  2. I don't remember the time limit to start, but if we continued to hit a button now and then, like the back/repeat button after the first press of OK, it extended our time by maybe 15 minutes each time.
  3. See answer to #2 - we were able to stop for lunch without losing our place in the game by pressing a button now and then.
  4. Our options were limited, both in start times and in countries on the 2 days we wanted to play due to the number of other players, but we still got to eventually play all but Mexico.

Thanks everyone!! This is really helpful. We did one of the countries on our last trip and enjoyed it so much we want to do all of them on our next. I'm just trying to see what the "rules" are as I try to fit them in into our plan with meals, shows, rides, etc.

MrsToad: Thanks for the back/repeat button trick. Knowing that should really help with my planning. Was it a busy park day when you went? Other people have said that they were able to pick any country they wanted, so I'm wondering if your experience of limited options may have been due to a busy park. We're going during an extremely slow time of year, which might allow us to do each country when we want to do it (barring, of course, something being broken or otherwise not functional).

It depends on how crowded WS is, and how many people are showing as active in the country you want to start in. When we went the week after Thanksgiving the first year it was Agent P, we always had our choice of any country we wanted. Our trip last October (during F&W which makes evenings more crowded in WS) we were able to start in any country we wanted early during the day, but the day DD wanted to pick a communicator up and do one specific country before our dinner ADR we could not get that country right then because there were too many active people there. When we told the CM thanks but we couldn't do one of the other countries she offered that night due to plans so we would just skip it, she had us wait with her 3 or 4 minutes because she figured one was close to finishing and closing and then DD could take that spot, and she was right. Of course, if there are people waiting at different kiosks for that same spot, only one person is going to get it!

The back/repeat button is your friend if you want to sit down for a minute or have a drink or a snack. The game will shut down after 15 minutes of inactivity, so if you hit the button close to that time, you buy yourselves another 15 minutes, and as long as you hit it again you can keep doing that. We found it really comes in handy when you are moving between countries and have set it to start the next country too. If you are exploring a country you are passing in between your mission countries, you might need it. One thing to think about with that is being considerate if it is a more crowded day. When the countries aren't at Agent P capacity and you can pick any country at any time, it isn't a big deal to just keep pausing it and extending your time. When it is a situation where they are full up and someone is waiting for something to open up so they can play, it is not that nice to keep the thing on pause.
