questions from a newbie

Hi all...didn't see a specific spot to introduce myself so I guess here is as good as any...DH and I will be visiting WDW next july for the 2nd time together( I have been there 3 other times with my family when younger) The last time we went was also mid july and we stayed off site. This time the plan is to stay at PO-R...I have read about all the great discounts people have gotten for this year during value season with their AP pass and I was wondering if anyone has ever received a similiar deal during regular season. I think we plan on getting two AP's since we'll be there for 10 days. With the great discounts I can see why people would stay at more than one resort at a time and that would be something I think we would like to do if we got a great rate.
We have enjoyed going in the summer when I was younger that was the typical family vacation so that was how we ended up going in july 2 years ago,DH enjoyed and we wanted to go back one more time that time of the year before we started exploring other times. We are from pa so it's not as easy to go to WDW just for a weekend although I did send for info on the DVC so maybe it will be after all
Thanks ahead of time and you guys are worth more than all the birnbaums and frohmerrs put together..lol...

Let's see if I can help you out... I believe there are various discounts available throughout the year - check out wdwinfo.com or wdwig.com and look in the Discounts sections for code specifics. With your APs, you should be able to secure discounts on your rooms, but make sure to check around first. I know that there are others on the DIS who can give you more specific information, so just hang in there!

Thank you so much mrsapalm...We're sooo excited about going next year and staying on property was something we had never thought was possible...Then when I started researching I found out IT IS POSSIBLE!!! YEA!!!!!...lol...Now I just need to work out the exact dates so the real planning can start

You're absolute right . . . guidebooks are great, but there's nothing quite as good as the first-hand info on these boards!
