Hey all,
I'm a newbie to these forums but not the parks as I used to work at EPCOT in the early 90's. (American Adventure host, was super cool) I'm looking to plan a trip to WDW soon and trying to gather as much information that I can before pulling the trigger. Below are some questions specific to us that I haven't been able to answer on the forums that I hope you can take a moment to help with?

1) Trip will be me (35) and my son (5), are there ways to hookup with other guests for activities and such? I'm not looking to leave him in daycare or such, just looking to add some people to have fun with.

2) I view our typical day as: Get up around 8, get breakfast, hit a park (MK mostly, followed by AK and then MGM) for a few hours, back to the hotel to rest/pool, and then back to park for evening rides and a show and/or fireworks. Don't want to wear out my son too badly, so want to schedule downtime. Does this sound right? What am I missing?

3) I can't figure out where to stay. The room itself is not really important to me. I'd like easy/quick access to the parks, nice pools, and perhaps another activity or two available. Access to character meals? Thinking Moderate or the low-end of the upper hotels. Don't want to pay a fortune, but want a good time for us without hassels.

4) He's not a big fan of loudnoises, so usually wears headphones or something when at loud events like fireworks and such… Anyone have any ear protection options for a little boy?

5) Although I'm in charge, this is my son's trip, so I'll be looking to go where he wants to. What's a good ticket option for us to be flexible as possible? Thinking 3 or 4 days for park visits, with maybe 1 other day to rest/chill out.

6) Is it too late to get a decent booking for a May (Regular pricing) trip?

Appreciate any help, looking forward to setting up this trip!

If loud noises bother him you might want to stay at the AKL. No fireworks there and you are far enough away so you don't hear them. It may not be real close to all the parks, but the buses are there and again no loud evening noises from MK or Epcot. You might also decide to stay at BC so you are within walking distance of MGM and Epcot and a short bus ride to MK. We drove to AK from BCV so I can't vouch for time from BC to AK.

As far as activities go they have story time and other activities posted on a bulliten board at the AKL.

Our favorite character breakfasts are at Chef Mickey's (CR), The Crystal Palace (MK), The Castle (MK), and Cape Mat Cafe (BC). You can also search at http://www.allearsnet.com/din/cbchar.htm for other character breakfast locations and information.

BC has Storm Along Bay so that is another reason to go that route.
