I know, this is not pin related.
I was invited to an Illuminations Cruise by someone I met on another board. I have never met her or her family but talk to her alot.
I don't want to post this on the boards she reads because I hope to surprise her so I hope the moderators are forgiving.
I want to bring some snacks on the cruise and some little things for her kids, ages 2, 7, and 14. All girls. I was thinking of those glow in the dark necklaces or bracelets.
If you have any ideas on what snacks, other than the usual chips, cheese and crackers etc. might be nice can you give me some hints.
I was thinking of calling Disney and maybe turning their cruise into a dessert cruise if I can without them knowing. Does anyone have any info on what is offered, or cost? thanks Peggie

We did an illuminations cruise 2 years ago--what a fun time!!! as far as snacks go--it is my understanding that Disney does not "officially" allow you to bring your own food or snacks on board the cruise (so it would have to be "on the sly" or nothing major like chips etc.). I recall this change in policy when people were bringing their own cakes etc. for birthdays and not paying the big $$ for the official birthday themed cruises. On that note--it is my undertanding that paying for Disney's snacks/cheese is pretty hefty but I dont recall the actual costs.

We added the birthday package to our cruise in April 2002 ... it was an extra $100 and we got an AWESOME birthday cake (slurp), chips, sodas and bottled water. It was well worth the $$$$ IMHO.

We did an Illuminations cruise two years ago for our 20th anniversary. It is one of the most wonderful experiences we have ever had in all our WDW trips!

I do not recall exact costs, but I think there was more than one food option. I'm not sure how you could add this on the sly. You'd have to make sure everyone along the way was clued in to the switcheroo. I am pretty sure that someone from Recreation Reservations calls to re-confirm 24-48 hours before the cruise.

Good luck with your special plan.

I also did the cruise with people from the boards that I had never met before. We had a good time. There is actually one of the cruise drivers who posts on several areas of the disboards. I can't remember his screename though.

When we were planning the cruise Disney said no food unless they cater it. At the same time I'm sure you could sneek some Disney candy on board. The captain probably won't mind as long as you share.

Have fun!! pirate:
