Questions for disbrides that also had a home reception...Wedding Gown Cleaning

For those of you that had a back home reception..did you have your dress cleaned and steamed again? If so, how much did it cost? My dress is so dirty from walking along Disney's BoardWalk. It's literally black underneath. I hope it will come out.

My dress actually wasn't too dirty and I was walking around in puddles of water. I did it it cleaned and pressed again. It was $100.00. It looked brand new! At the home reception it got so dirty! I had drinks spilled on it from my drunk family and the floor was really dirty. It was worth having it cleaned for the reception though!

I didn't wear mine at my at-home reception, but i had it dry cleaned. It cost $80, but mine had no lace or other embellishment (and, I suspect, could have been thrown in a washing machine, but the dry cleaner wouldn't do it!).

I didn't have another reception, but my dress was FILTHY! I had it cleaned by the folks Carolyn Allen's suggested (mainly because that meant I didn't have to lug the thing on an international flight) and it came out spotless! I think it cost around $150.

Don't worry it'll come out. My dress also was completely black from being on the BW, the reception and from the MK shoot, but EVERYTHING came out. It looks brand new! So as I said, no worries- Hakuna Matata!

I used Carolyn Allen's and they sent my dress to the Wedding Gown Preservation Company out of Endicott, NY. (Actually the town of my rival HS--total shock! ) They have their own website if you want to check it out:

After walking the Boardwalk and then a MK shoot the bottom of my dress was filthy! It cost about $100 to have cleaned and amazing how well the dirt came out. I had it done at a local cleaners.
