Edit for more a more concise post:

We are bringing our daughter to Disney for first time as a surprise for her 5th birthday. We have ADR for CT at 8:05 am, park currently says it opens at 9.

If I were to say, put a ribbon around her eyes, do you think I could get one of the Disney photographers to take a picture of her shocked face as soon as I remove the ribbon? Would this be too difficult to arrange, or not advisable? I don't even mind arriving closer to 7 am to see if it can be accommodated. If there is anyone I can call to try to make it happen, please let me know!

Additionally, we have ADR for BOG at 2:10 for lunch (unless I can switch them for dinner later.. checking constantly!) How much time would I need to leave between BBB and 2:10 reservation time?

Finally, has anyone had any luck with having the BBB hairstyle slightly modified? My daughter has super super curly hair and a sensitive scalp. Do you think they would put it up in a high ponytail with her tiara instead of the super tight bun?

Oh darn. I haven't been to Disney in almost ten years and I forgot the busses and such typically have voices/Mickey talking about Disney I believe! Guess no way to completely surprise her in front of the entrance!

I feel like if you were to present a blindfolded child at the entrance of the park a lot of questions would be raised. I would strongly advise against that. It sounds like you have a magical trip planned for her, I'm sure she will be surprised enough with all you are doing for her!

I would give yourself a nice two hour window between your BOG ADR and BBB. BBB is known for running late and the process can take a while. I am unsure if they will modify the hairstyle but they are great with working with all types of children and hairstyles and will make something work out for her.

Thank you for responding!

I had an inkling it would be considered a little strange, but she absolutely loves surprises and always makes us cover her eyes when presenting presents. It's cute and funny and probably started from us doing it when she was a baby, but she continues to request it. I tried to make it less strange sounding by using a ribbon. I suppose I could just use my hands! However, I think the transportation to the park has a sound recordings that reveals we're at Disney anyway so I suppose the idea is mute! :)

Just pulling off blind fold from a logistics standpoint would be hard, and it would appear sort of odd. We have done BBB before breakfast then went to royal table. That way DD was all pretty for the pics. As for hair adjustment , that shouldn't be a problem they seemed pretty accommodating with my two.

Can you just surprise her with the BBB or the Be Our Guest lunch? Just sort of wander past it and then tell her the surprise? You know your daughter best and you said she is used to having her eyes covered for surprises. I just know that with my two girls (14 and 11) this plan would not have turned out pretty. The youngest one particularly needs time to process things before they happen. She asks a ton of questions and you can see her getting her head around the experience. I'm a lot like that myself, so I understand.

True, this would be the biggest surprise of her life I believe, so many it would be too much of a shock! I hope you guys don't think it was too creepy of an idea lol. I feel silly for considering it now!

They can't deviate from the offered hairstyles at BBB since they aren't licensed, but they're very good with all types of hair.
