questions, cruise newbie

I just booked our first cruise for the Nov 29, easterner. It will be myself, DH and DS (6). Hubby is suppose to be back from Iraq by then so I'm excited. Here's my questions..

1) I booked a cat 6 room, do you think it will still be warm enough for the verandah?

2) Is there anyway to have something special (surprise of course) in the room for hubby?

3)Since school will be in for most will there still be plenty of kids?

I'm so excited about this! I've mailed hubby everything I can print out LOL!

The weather should be fine. We have cruised in December and February and it was great. Disney will send you a leaflet with things (food mainly) you can have sent to your cabin. There seem to always be plenty of kids on the cruise.

1, We cruised in May and there were a couple of breezy late nights where I wished I had a sweatshirt on the verandah. Pack one, you'll have it if you need it.

2. Disney will send you info or try The Perfect Gift (www.perfectgift.cc) Shirley (a DIS'er) is wonderful and they'll put together just about anything you want! We got a basket for the kids that included a tote bag, sand toys, bubbles for sailaway (we forgot them in the cabin) snacks and juice boxes. The card was signed something like "Happy Cruising, Love Mickey and Mini" Luckily it wasn't my fluent reader who looked at the card or she'd have been all over the "Mini" spelling!!

3. We went in May (during the school year) and there were plenty of kids on the ship. We homeschool, so that's our "excuse," but others take their kids out for family vacations.

DU or DCL does have specials now for military families. Are you taking advantage of those? Don't know when you have to cruise by.

We'll be watching your cruise sail. We'll be sitting on the rocks at Jetty park in anticipation of our cruise on 11/30. Look for me, dh, and two little kids along with my parents!

I will be on the same cruise with my parents and 5 year old nephew. Maybe the boys can have some fun together! I am hoping for great weather - we will be past the hurricane season, so we should be OK. Keeping my fingers crossed!
