Questions: Ana and Elsa's Boutique in Downtown Disneyland

Hello!
I had a couple of questions regarding Ana and Elsa's boutique in Downtown Disney. Do they sell princess dresses there? If so, how big of size do they go up to? Also, how much is a "makeover" there?

From what I remember, they only sold Anna and Elsa dresses at the boutique (none of the other princesses - you could go to WoD to get the dresses for the other princesses). The Disney Parks Blog had a posting when the shop first opened. It says the makeovers start at $35 and included make-up, hair style, and a tiara.

Also, if you have an AP, they give you a 10% discount which is pretty nice.

Yes, as mentioned above they only sell Anna and Elsa dresses. The makeovers are great and I think the hair styles are nicer than BBB. They range in price from $35-$45.

If you are staying on site, they offer special appointments to hotel guests 1hr BEFORE the boutique opens. You book through Guest Services. We did this and it was GREAT! Had the place to ourselves and were almost done when the doors opened. It was a little crazy once the store was open and everyone was crowding around the stylist area and watching etc. I would definitely do this if you are on site! You can't book these until you check in, though, and its not offered every day (it was offered 3 of the 4 days we were there though). I had booked a separate reservation but cancelled that once I was able to book through Guest Services.

These are both the Elsa style ($35). They can pick any color hair streak they want. Both girls pictured have lower back length hair.

This is "Cool as Ice" which I think was $45. They recommended this as a better option for DD3 because her hair is not quite shoulder length. They can pick any 2 hair streak colors they want.

I definitely have to book in for this! does the boutique open at the same time as Disneyland and California Adventure? or does it open earlier/later (trying to decide what time of day would be best to book). We are not staying onsite.

We have a booking for our trip for 7 kids, I had to ring the boutique directly and leave a message they ring you back and they managed to get all 7 (4 boys, 3 girls) at the same time. Not sure I will buy my daughter a dress but might buy her a nice tshirt.

When we were there in December it opened at 10am. So even with our 9am pre-opening appointment we went into Disneyland, got our A&E FP (this was right before they moved them to DCA), ate breakfast at Riverbelle and then went back out to DTD to go to the boutique.

I should clarify that the photo I posted with Elsa was taken at the M&G- Elsa and Anna do not appear at the boutique. It was just one of the better photos I had of her hairstyle.

Should I book an appointment anyway, just to make sure, and then cancel it once the one through GS is confirmed?

I have an appointment booked for this coming Thursday late afternoon just before they close at 6 PM.

To be honest, I cannot wait and will have a shower cap for DD to wear to bed so the glitter and style stays mostly intact.

I would book an appointment so you have something in case they aren't offering the special hotel guest early access or someone else beats you to the booking on the day(s) you have planned. I did this and just cancelled it once I got the pre-opening appointment.

FWIW, my oldest's stayed in just fine for 3 days without any special measures or protection. Maybe not every piece of glitter remained but there was still some.

My younger two decided they didn't want to sleep in theirs but I think the middle one (same style as oldest) probably would have stayed in fine. The youngest one (the other style) probably would have only made it one more day.

I will say that I was SO pleased with the product they used. It held the style really well but was also super easy to wash out.

Do any of you know what sizes the Anna or Elsa dresses go up to? If the age range is 3-15, I would hope they would have some larger sizes in the dresses.

Hmm..I'm not totally sure. I can check next week. But unless your 15yo is very petite, I don't think they'll have much that will fit her.... sorry!

I don't know about the A&E Boutique specifically, but I think the largest sized Disney Store/Disney Parks Elsa/Anna dress is 9/10.

We bought an Elsa dress in size 14/16 at the World of Disney. We have also purchased Aurora and Belle in the same size. The larger sizes are only available at the parks/DTD, not at the Disney Store, or online, which carries up to a 9/10.
