Questions about valet parking

I have some questions about using the free valet parking at DVC resorts. Our home resort is BWV so we will always be staying there. DH and I have no problem self-parking, but it would be much more convenient to use the valet parking when first checking in and bringing the luggage up because then DH or I would not have to bother with parking the car ourselves while the other brings up the luggage and the kids to the room. This may not seem like a big deal but it would be so much easier to just valet it for that one purpose when we initially check in.

So, I would like to know if this is possible, to valet park when checking in and bringing luggage up to the room? Also, do I have to go get my car back from the valet that same day, or can I leave it there until the following day (or even 2 days)? We would probably be having dinner in the Boardwalk area the first evening and definitely would not be going to a park on check-in day. And possibly be going to Epcot or DHS the following day, meaning we would not need the car for those either from BWV. So how exactly does valet parking work? I never used valet parking at WDW before. We would definitely need the car a few times during our trip, as we have small children and prefer to drive to MK and to restaurants not within walking distance. Thanks!

you can valet park your whole vacation. it is included in your membership. I love using the service. there is nothing like being dropped off right in front of the hotel after a long day. You can leave your car there for as long as you like. They give you a ticket. Don't feel guilty using it, we actually pay plenty for the service!

I always valet park the car when I arrive at BWV. You drive up and the valet will give you a claim check. You can either take the luggage in yourself or have them empty the luggage and put it on a cart to be delivered to your room later. A tip is definitely expected if they handle the luggage. I usually give them $5 if they put the luggage on a cart. If they are just parking the car, the tip is optional at dropoff and expected at pickup. If they are quick I will give them $2 each way. There's no time limit in valet, you can get your car whenever you are ready to use it again. If you are in your room and will be using the car, call from the room and they will have the car ready when you get down there.

Thank you! We did plan on tipping of course! I always tip valet parking no matter where I am, whether it is free or there is a fee involved. We also always tip bell services at any hotel for helping with luggage. I would expect to do that any time using valet parking. But saving the fee of the valet parking is a definite plus for being a member!!

Hide your parking pass and show the Valet your blue DVC Membership card. By hiding you parking pass you reduce the possibility of being charged by mistake. Check your folio before check out just to make sure.

That is good advice.

It happened to us even after we asked the valet if he needed to see our DVC member card. He said he didn't.

We checked out the next day before we got our itemized charges from OKW, so I called to ask about it and sure enough there was a valet charge which the CM was nice enough to remove.
