What size milk will fit in the room fridge? Just wondering if I should buy two half-gallons instead of a gallon for the morning cereal.

Also, does anyone know what kind of K-Cups are provided, and do they provide sugar? I am planning to buy real half-and-half.

thanks!

The fridge is small. I don't think a gallon would fit. A half would fit on its side, you could probably fit two in there but then you wouldn't have much room for anything else.

They do supply a few kcups. If I remember it was a light roast, dark roast, decaf and tea. There are a few little packets with sugar and stirrers and stuff. I am not sure if they will replace it or not.....right now there is not daily housekeeping so you have to text them to replace things in the room and they drop off. They will bring more cups though, as we had requested that.

We are cereal in the morning type people. However, for our last 2 Universal trips what we have found that works great are those oatmeal cups. I run the hot water through the Keurig to make each oatmeal cup and then we eat with an applesauce pouch for breakfast. I bring from home a ziploc full of plastic spoons, little creamers, and our favorite kcups for coffee. You could also use the packets, but I like the cups because they are a bit more "deluxe" and not something I would normally buy at home, so it is a treat for my kids. We always take a food suitcase with us when we travel (we fly southwest) so it is easy stuff to pack! We usually do a quick stop at the Walgreens down the street for water (bottles for the parks, gallon to use with the Keurig) and gatorades, but we bring most of our food with so we don't need to go to a grocery store.

FYI - Royal Pacific has K-Cup machines, Cabana Bay has pods, I can't speak to the other hotels.

We were at both HRH and RPH and both those had kcups. We have not stayed at the other hotels.

Are the fridges in the family suites any bigger than in the regular rooms? I'm planning on a family suite at Cabana Bay, in part for the microwave. I'd love to be able to stock up a bit more than what a typical mini fridge will hold.

Yes, but I don't know how big these mini-fridges are, as mini-fridges come in different sizes. One of my best Orlando experiences was staying in a little budget hotel behind a gift shop in the Maingate area. I think it was about $75 night including taxes and fees, but the mini-fridge was slightly bigger and had the little freezer section in it that could really freeze a cold pack. I've stayed in "nicer" hotels that have tiny mini-fridges that barely keep a drink cool, so I'm always on the lookout for a really good mini-fridge.

What I recall...was having trouble fitting a half gallon in the fridge. What we ended up doing was transferring milk to 16.9 ounce water bottles to make it fit.

Another awesome solution I have found is to get/bring shelf stable milk boxes. They don't have to be kept cold at all until you open them! Parmalat, plus some other brands, come in quart size boxes. Most grocery stores also sell lunch-size milk boxes (Horizon Organic, Organic Valley, Fairlife are all common brands). The only hard part is finding them in the grocery store. Quarts tend to be next to canned condensed milk. Smaller milk boxes might in the organic section, or maybe next to other individually packaged lunch-box snack items. The only other thing I'd caution is one of the no-name brands of quart size lactose-free boxes I recently bought tasted terrible. The name brands listed above all taste like regular milk, except Fairlife tastes a bit like other lactose-free milk brands.

The 8 ounce quart size boxes will fit in the the fridge no problem.

Oh- one more place you can find shelf stable milk boxes is at many fast food places! They are often sold with kid meals. If you only need a little milk, and don't mind paying a mint, you might even find them at one of the airport fast food eateries for individual purchase.
