This is my first post, so sorry if this has been asked before...

What are the linens like on the beds. Comfy down or hard comforter?

We are going at Christmas time and I know it's spectacular there. I once saw a picture of them roasting chestnuts by the lobby. Do they do that all of the time? Any other fun christmassy things going on their (aside from the magnificent decor)?
I'm so excited and looking forward to researching more about the Floridian on these boards. TIA!

The above link shows the GF at Christmas. We will be staying there Dec. 9-14 this year. We stayed during Dec. a few years ago and the chestnut cart was at the front entrance, but we visited the GF a couple of years ago and didn't see the chestnut place. Maybe it was just bad timing.

We are going Dec 9-15. How funny that we are going at the same time. Let's hope we both have wonderful trips!

The linens are ok, not 800 thread count luxury linens, but comfortable. Hard comforter...I always take it off the bed (hotel comforters gross me out).

I didn't see any roasting chestnuts when I've been there around Christmas time. In the past when we stayed there I remember them having hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks they would give you as you came in from the cold. I love the Grand Floridian and cannot wait till they are done with all of the construction so I can book another stay there! Enjoy! It's absolutely magical there pixiedust:
