Questions about the end of the process

Cwf - So some bad news for us...
I talked to Tammy today, who unfortunately, has started to remember me. She said that my contract was submitted on the 5th, and that it wouldn't get entered until the earliest, Sunday, so don't call back before Monday.

Good luck with yours though. Maybe you will get Kevin to answer the phone and he will be more helpful :thumbsup2
 
I called today and had someone other than Tammy, yay!! She was very nice - she told me they didn't receive my contract until the 10th (which I don't think is accurate bc I saw it on the Orange Co website on the 9th)...but I'll wait until Monday to call again - losing patience with this process!

Must have done some math wrong in my first post - we are now at 10 weeks!
 
gatorgirl, do you think every time you call Tammy puts you at the back of the pile? :lmao: Mine went to disney sometime between the 6th and the 11th but I don't dare call and taunt tammy. I think someday we'll discover she's the monkey throwing darts!
 
Tammy is an angry, angry woman!! Haha - maybe she doesn't work weekends!

I think you can also call members services (they seem to be a happier bunch!) and they can search by your last name. Then if you are in, they can transfer you to admin to get your member ID - someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
 

I've only ever read about the timeframe of people calling to get a member ID. I think I'll take the road less travelled and wait for my stuff in the mail from disney. Curious to see how long that all takes.

I'm with you AllieV!!! I was ultra nice and sweet and although she wasn't necessarily "mean", she wasn't friendly or helpful and she laughed at me for thinking I could get any info prior to 2 weeks and/or receiving my package in the mail. If she isn't the monkey throwing darts she's probably related to the monkey so until I receive word I'm posting dancing bananas to help distract, for my fellow posters! DRAT! my dancing banana is missing. The only food icon I have is popcorn. Hope the monkeys like popcorn...popcorn::

UPDATE: took a chance that the popcorn would work and called Membership. Spoke with awesome Amber, who laughed with me NOT at me (lol). Got my membership # and was transferred to technical to set up website but was told had to call back on Wed due to my account not being fully set up yet. At least we have a number, which makes us OFFICIAL!!! So maybe you want to take a chance and call today.

Oh on a side note. Was told there was no way to check for availability prior to my account being fully set up, but at a glance, everything is pretty much booked up for end of Sept, Oct and Nov. Bummers.

We're in the same boat. I received two emails from agent and title co saying it was sent to Disney on the 3rd and the 5th but the Orange Co website says the 9th. In my mind it's going on a week and a half so feel like I should be able to get my number but I think in Disney's mind (haha as if Disney had me on it's mind) it's only been a few days. ARRRGHH the humanity of it all!!!:sad::faint:

I did not try calling again today figured I'd wait till next week I was told i closed the 6th and orange only says the 11th so who knows but I hope Tammy is on vaction next week
 
Ugh!! With all the counting of weeks it's like waiting to give birth. :rotfl:

I know! Anyone know if they put contracts in during the weekend?
YES THEY DO!!! I was told yesterday after I got my membership number but the points hadn't loaded yet to call back in a couple of days. I asked if that meant to call back on Tuesday, since they didn't work on the weekends. The reply was a definitive, "we DO work on weekends."

However, I got the impression they are behind and frantically trying to catch up so even if they are working on the weekends it will still be a few extra days.

Good to know! I was patient today and didn't even call member admin! I called member services once though and she said she they wouldn't be processing them during the weekend. But I know member admin has hours on Saturday/Sunday so I assumed she was wrong.

I've spoken with Tammy before when I had a problem with the closing of one of my contracts and I would agree that her phone demeanor could use a little work. So I'm definitely not defending her or her attitude, as I think someone who works in customer service should be a little more friendly.

That being said, I think it's important to see things from her perspective. Here she is, trying to do her job of getting contracts processed in the order in which they were received, and she's having to field at least half a dozen phone calls from people asking about their contracts well before the date they would reasonably be expected to be entered into the system. I think any of us would get a little frustrated if we were in that position.

As a resale buyer, I understand how difficult it is to wait. But we all know what we signed up for. I think that if you're within the 2 week window after Disney has been notified of your closing, maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to wait for that white envelope to show up in your mailbox one day.

I know I am super impatient...I'm working on it :rotfl: I was mainly just venting about Tammy (and it's probably not all that polite of me to be talking about someone I don't know over the internet), because she wouldn't even check to see if my contract was entered. I don't know the exact date that it was sent so I'm not sure when my 10-14 days would be.

I assumed a 10-14 day wait, but when I asked the question about how long it took after I was posted on the OC website, I saw a few people (not just in this thread) that were put in within a day or two. I have been checking daily because I'm going on vacation at the end of the week for 10 days with no internet/phone, and am trying to book 2 days for our September trip. At this point, it looks like I'm going to be stuck waiting until the first week of August to try to add the two days :crazy2:

Yet another reminder that I need to work on my patience!!

Princess - If you are trying to get an Oct reservation, there are slim pickings, but there are a few things here and there.

After several emails from the broker and closing company last week and the week before telling me Disney was informed and the deed was recorded, I got one today that said they didn't actually send it to Disney until yesterday. Not sure what happened there. I hadn't even asked, these were emails randomly sent to me. I'm still not listed in the Indian River County website.

Congrats!! I called yesterday and also spoke to Amber, who told me that mine wasn't received until the 10th (which I find strange, but whatever), and said that they were working on contracts on the 6th. Amber was much nicer than mean old Tammy! :rotfl: I will probably not bother calling again until Friday and will just have to try and make my reservation when I get back next week.

Bummer :( Same thing in my case - I thought they were sent on the 6th, turns out it wasn't until the 10th. So frustrating!!!!
 
I called today and spoke to Amber and I was put in the symptum on Monday she gave me my member number and told me it would probably be another two days for points to load and when I logged into the website my points showed up
And my paperwork was sent on the 9 they said so maybe tommoorow you will be in the systum good luck sending pixiedust: your way
