Does anyone know if Saratoga Springs has a mini mart/convinience store at the resort?
Do they sell things like half gallons of milk and gallon jugs of water?
I know they have they have the grocery service but we only need a couple things like milk for coffee and cereal.
This is our first time using our dvc home resort and we are trying to plan accordingly...
Thanks in advance,
Zendisney :goodvibes

Yes SSR does have a store where you can purchase milk, juice, fresh fruit etc. It is in the same area as the counter service food court. There is also an area for things like souvenirs and shirts etc. It's pretty good for the basics. Enjoy your first stay at "home"!!

Everytime I have been in there it shared cash registers with the food court. So if you go at a busy eating time, getting groceries or souvenirs can be a little hectic.

I don't remember seeing gallon sized bottles of water like you asked. I know there are individual size bottles, but I don't remember seeing anything larger.

Never saw the gallon size either. They have the individual size though.
Enjoy your trip "home"!

The shop is rather small and IMHO, overpriced. We usually don't need a ton of staples either, but have been using gardengrocer.com with good success. They are less expensive, even with the delivery fee.

We haven't used the store at SSR yet but have used the stores at AKV, OKW & VWL. I think they're all pretty similar. They will have 1/2 gal. milk and like liter size bottles of water (for a premium) as well as some doughnuts, bread & probably a few froz. items like hot pockets that can be microwaved & a small assortment of beer & liquor. If that is all you need, although expensive it will be cheaper than paying a delivery fee from a grocery service (I think they have a minimum grocery delivery amount of like $40 + the del. fee). If you want a whole LIST of stuff then I'd look into going offsite.

If we're going down for a week we have decided that for what the DVC stores charge just for beer & alcohol alone it is cheaper for us to hire a car service from MCO that includes a grocery stop!! It is also cheaper to go offsite if you want like a case of bottled water or something too. If we're just going for a long weekend or something then I will pack lightweight non-perishable grocery items from home like pre-sliced bagels, doughnuts, cereal (in those self containers that u just pour the milk in etc.) Then we can just pick up some milk once we get there.:thumbsup2

I also have a question about SSR, as this April will also be our first time staying there.
I know that there is a bar at both the Grandstand and Springs section, and my question is what do they serve at this bar? Is it only alcoholic drinks(which ones), or do they serve bar food, such as fries there?
We stayed at CSR in 08, and their bar was soo great as it had bar food as well, and this was super convenient with the kids.

I haven't been to the bar at the grandstand pool, but at High Rock Springs pool bar, the food is limited. There are chips, and at one time they did have some pre-made sandwiches available, but I'm not sure if the sandwiches are still available there. However, Artist Palette is just a walk up the stairs from the main pool. But as of the last time I was there, fries aren't on the menu, but there are chicken nuggets and a couple of other kid friendly meals offered.

Yes they have a store and if I remember the prices are very high. There is a grocery store outside the resort in the shopping center across the street from Buena Vista drive but that too is very very expensive. If you have a car drive north up to Wal Mart where the prices are normal like we are used to at home. Good Luck. There also is a Hess gas station across from Caribbean Beach near the Bowardwalk villas.
