Questions about royal court tea

So I was just checking activities for my May double dip cruise on the Fantasy and I see there is availability. It doesn't state the time, only the date.From what I've read other places I am assuming it would be held at 2 or 3 o'clock? The price is crazy expensive in my opinion, but it looks like fun. Thoughts? Anyone did this? Worth the money? Also would it be worth leaving castaway cay early for? My daughter just turned 3 so not sure if she's old enough to truly appreciate the experience, thanks

We did it with my 4yo and 8yo in January, and they both loved it. The food was just OK, but that wasn't really the point of it. The gifts, the princesses, the 'show' were all great. There were younger kids than mine there, but my daughter was probably at the top end of the age range. We booked it because I felt next time we cruise she might have aged out of it, and I'm glad we did. My son was thrilled by it, and still talks about how Cinderella gave him presents . I think it really is worth the money.

I think it was held at 3:00 on our cruise, would have to go back and double check though.

I did it w/ my 3 and 5 y/o DD. They loved it!! I think ours was at 3:00. It is a whole show w/ songs from the movies and the princesses spent lots of time w/ my girls. They get LOTS of stuff with this. Like half a suitcase worth of stuff- autograph book, framed pic, jewelry box, doll. This was a definite highlight for us. We will probably do it again when my youngest DD is old enough. It is crazy expensive, but I kind of looked at it as an excursion. As far as leaving CC early, my 3 year old would have totally been up for leaving the beach to do this. My 5 yr old on the other hand, would rather snorkel/slide/play. At 3 she probably wont be quite big enough for some of those CC draws and if its a double dip I'd say go for it.

Does this book up early? We're first time cruisers, so our booking window will be the last to open. I'd love to take my DD to this, but definitely don't want to get her hopes up if it's likely to book up. Also, does this usually happen on the CC day or the sea day?

We are silver cc with our trip about 80 days away, and as of now, there's still availability for the tea, which I'm assuming will still be the case for newbie sailors when the window opens 75 days before. They are offering it during 2 of the days at sea.

We did this on our last cruise. My DD9 loved it. I wanted to do it before she was too old. She wants to do it again on our next cruises. We'll see! I would be more likely to do it again if they would offer different dolls, charms, jewelry box, etc. on each ship. She definitely would not give up Castaway Cay time for the tea party though. She could LIVE on CC.

I don't think it's as hard to book as it used to be now that it is offered on all ships. It used to only be offered on the Fantasy. Also, I think the price steers many people away from booking it.

One thing that we had as part of the tea, was on the last day of the cruise, my daughter received an invitation to have princess training and be in sort of a parade. Many of the girls from the tea met Cinderella, got pixie dust in their hair, learned to curtsy and wave, and then were introduced and walked down the grand staircase to applause.

No personal experience, but our dining table was next to a family with a little girl last fall on the Fantasy. She was a very sweet little girl, and very chatty. They had gone to the Royal tea and she just went on and on and on about it and she was so animated and happy about the experience. I would guess she was probably about five. Just based on her excitement, if I was taking a little girl on a cruise I would seriously consider the royal tea.

Sorry that I am butting in on your thread, but is the Royal tea only on certain ships and lengths? I don't remember it being on the wonder when we went in 2014?

It was originally only on the Fantasy. Once DCL determined that people are willing to shell out that amount of money, it was put on the other ships, also.

We took our DD5 this past september to the royal court tea. Definitely not about the food but the entertainment and gifts. My daughter still talks about it and wears her bracelet and necklace she received and uses her jewelry box

It was ok. My DD5 enjoyed it, but don't think it was worth the price. Personal interaction with the princesses, but she got some of that on the ship already. Definitely wouldn't do again.

And certainly wouldn't leave CC early for it.
