My husband and I will be doing the Food and Wine festival and are currently looking at the BWI. We are open to suggestions or favorites from others. We are also traveling with another couple and are also wondering if it would be financially beneficial to stay at a villa together. Opinions or recommendations?

I think you've made a great choice. BWI/BWV is a wonderful location - convenient to both HS and Epcot plus great restaurant options. The scary clown slide at the pool can creep some people out but there are quiet pools that you can enjoy without even looking at it. It's an excellent choice for F&W.

Cash bookings for the villas can be quite pricey. I wouldn't even contemplate sharing a studio with another couple. Too crowded and absolutely no privacy! The 1-bedroom villas can be very nice but someone is going to be sleeping in the "living room" on a pullout sofa while someone else is going to have a nice king-size bed with the privacy of a bedroom door. How would you divide the cost? If you want a 2-bedroom villa, it's going to cost $1100-$1250 per night at rack rate. So, just from a financial POV, I would recommend BWI if you can find availability.

Other recommendations: BC for its awesome pool and proximity to Epcot. Poly for its romantic atmosphere and easy walk to the Epcot monorail at the TTC.

BWI/V is wonderful. We also love Yacht and Beach - in the same area and we prefer the vibe to BW.

If you're interested in a villa, renting DVC points would be the way to go for financial purposes but scoring a DVC room during Food and Wine might be a challenge.

We went in September with another couple and got a two bedroom villa at the beach club and it was amazing! You can't go wrong being in that area during the food and wine festival!

Renting points for a DVC Villa during this years F & W will be nearly impossible. Villas book at 11 months out at this time of year. We bought BCV DVC just to be able to stay here for F & W. I book at exactly the 11 month out day
Good Luck

I think BWI is the perfect choice for an adults-only trip. It's lively and has fun night-time entertainment. With 2 couples, I would do two rooms as opposed to a villa unless you can get a 2-bedroom, but it won't offer you any cost savings over 2 standard rooms.

Thanks everyone! This is for F/W 2018 which is why I am investigating now! Haha! We will most likely book the soonest date possible. Good to know we were looking in the right direction!
