First off, I wanna start by saying I'm obviously new here and I hope not to sound too ridiculous or silly. I've been reading posts on this forum for about 3 months or so now, and I just decided to join and post some questions I have because everyone here seems so friendly and helpful. I'm not a DVC member, but I'm hoping to possibly rent points from a member for my next trip to WDW (Hopefully, but not definitely, in February of 2008). I've been trying to get a better idea of how the renting points work and I've read several threads and I think I have the basic idea down. I guess more than having questions I'm just looking for advice on how I should go about everything. About how far in advance I should start trying to make arrangements, if the renting of points is really a good idea, etc. Am I thinking about things too early for February or is it a good idea to get an early start?

Any advice, suggestions, etc would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance. :tink:

You need to be looking now, especially if you want to stay at one of the smaller resorts. You're getting into President's weekend and even early spring break.

I would start looking now! You are well within the 11 month booking window so if you find someone to rent from who owns at the resort you want to stay at they can book it for you now! Renting points can be a great way to vacation but talk to the person you are renting from first. If you have any doubts find another person to rent from as the DVC owner will have complete control over your reservations. We rented points last year and had a great experience, but it is a little nerve racking knowing that someone else controls your reservation! I would do it again in a second, the people we rented from were great. One thing to beware of though, we got hooked on DVC and now own at AKV!:rotfl:
