Questions about renting/buying?

Hello Everyone.... I've been daydreaming about my next trip to disney with my boyfriend and am trying to figure out this DVC thing. I want to go Dec 9-14 2007 so if I wanted to stay in the cheapest Boardwalk room i would need to buy/rent? 45 points from a DVC member for that resort right? Also I would need the dining plan (can you get regular or premium DP? ....how much is it) . If i buy the DDP can I buy my tickets elsewhere or do i have to buy them from disney. I don't know if the 2007 DDP for DVC has been announced. I haven't heard - got a reservation for March that I need to add it to when it is available.

no, you don't need to buy tickets from DVC or Disney to get the DVC DDP. (many DVC member have an annual pass - so DVC allows us to get the DDP without buying tickets we don't need)

You need to find a member to make the reservation in January - so no later than Dec you need to find someone.

this is a very hard reservation to make. - so make sure the member you find is willing to do day by day reservations or you might not get it.

that time is very popular with DVC members and lots of us want the standard view at BWV. be prepared to take the preferred view or go with another DVC resort.

for Dec 1-14 those standard view days can sell out the day that they are offered.

I'll second what spiceycat said, that will be a very difficult ressie to get at all. I'd plan on getting a preferred view studio, which would be 60 points for those five nights.

Even with preferred view, you'd do well to get your dates very firmly set and go to work a little prior to the opening of the 11-month window.

Yes, you can get the dining plan, as spiceycat said, without buying tickets you don't need. The DDP cost for 2007 is $38.99 per day for adults and $10.99 for kids (3 - 9). You have to get DDP for each person in your party, for every day of your stay. Taxes and tip are already included in the DDP price.
