Questions about Renewing DAS

Hi friends!

I’m sorry if this has been asked already I’m just a little confused. I had the DAS pass on my last trip in July 2021. I know it expires after 60 days I was wondering what the process is like to renew it? I think I read somewhere that they can see through account that I’ve utilized the pass in the past, is this correct? What is the process to renew like? Do they ask the same questions again or no because I’m just renewing? And I’m pretty sure I’m going to wait until we are there and go to guest services again.

thank you !

I'm concerned with having my DH here for the call...

I'm a local AP, so have to stop by Guest Services (or any 'Blue Umbrella' location inside a park) once every 60 days to renew my DAS. It has always been quick and easy, and the CMs have never questioned me, other than to confirm my info and ask if I want to attach the same family members or make any changes. They have always been able to pull up my info by scanning my Magic Band. I have occasionally seen other DAS users post that they've been asked again the reason they need the DAS & what the DAS would do to help them... so your experience could vary.

Disneyland or WDW?

Disneyland doesn't keep anything "on file." When you go to renew, you have to go through the whole process again.

WDW seems like they may keep stuff on file, but I don't know how true that is. How would they know it's the same person unless they have an annual pass? DAS is attached to a specific ticket media, not an MDE account.

DH renewed his online a few days ago and it was super simple. They did ask, but he was more comfortable discussing since it was in the privacy of our own home. As for wait times, it took about 20 minutes from the time he logged on at 8 am pacific time until the DAS portion was done and it only took thst long due to some technical issues. It took about 40 minutes to decide on and book the advanced reservations for 10 days. And a lot of that was his end going back and forth with dining reservations and such.

And since it was a text chat during booking the advance selections, if his issue became problematic during it, he could have taken care of it and no one would know. For him, it took a lot of the stress out, because he won't have to go and do it in person the first day, he isn't always for face to face with things like that.

Maybe for adults. But not kids. They don't get their own profile. They just get added to the adult's profile.
Kids under 13 actually do get their own profile; guests need to be 16 or older to make their own account. The child’s ticket is linked to their profile.
Kid’s profiles are managed by the adult who created the child’s profile on their account.

WDW website managing minor’s Family & Friend’s profile
Disneyland previously had the same FAQ, but all the links to their ticket related FAQs about it are currently going to the ‘Magic Key’ pass page

WDW tickets are attached/linked to the specific guest’s profile in the MDE app.
DAS (at least at WDW) is also linked to the specific guest profile. It can’t be used or seen by the guest without a ticket and a park reservation.

I do know for sure the WDW DAS is visible to Guest Relations CMs when renewing; my daughter sometimes needs a new photo taken and sometimes the CM says a picture is still there. My immediate family has APs, but the Friends & Family with us don’t; when renewing, the CM often names the ones who were linked to DAS on our last visit and asks if we want them linked again.
