Questions about Online Check in

After reading many posts I have been going back and forth on trying the online check-in vs. just trying my luck when I got to the resort to get the building I wanted. I decided to walk through the online check-in just to see what options I had available and had a couple of questions I was hoping someone could answer. I am staying at AS Music by the way

1) For the room request section not all of the buildings are available to select from. Now I know there are peferred rooms but one of my selections is the Calyspo Section which I thought was a preffered and I only paid for a standard room. Jazz and country fair are not available to me. Is there a reason for that?

2) Can anyone explain what a landscape view is? I have a 19 month old that we will be bringing and as much as I would love to stay in Calyspo section because it is so close to the food court I don't want to be right outside the pool. If I could be on the back end of calyspo I would be happy.


any suggestions as to what my bet options are to stay close enough to the food court but be out of the way of the noise if my son needs to sleep? online vs. checking in when I get there. Sorry for being so long winded. LOL

I don't know much about the All Star Resorts because I've never stayed there. I know there are those lucky enough on this forum who have gotten upgraded for free upon arrival at the resort. I think your best bet, will be to make your online room requests as best as you can, and then call (407) 939-6244 and speak to a Disney travel agent. They can add requests to your reservation and answer any questions you may have. You can be as specific as you want. Hope this helps and hope your vacation is magical!

Whether you do online check-in or not has zero affect on whether you get your requests met.

I don't know why. And yes, the Calypso buildings are preferred. Your best bet is to call and have any requests added to your reservation.

A view of some greenery/landscaping.

Even though it's preferred you can still request Calypso. It's unlikely you would get it, but you never know. You could word your request as "Calypso, back end away from pool".

We like our stay in Jazz Inn building 9. We were on the opposite side of the courtyard and it was nice and quiet. Jazz Inn building 2 has the same type of location. You could word your request as Jazz Inn, facing away from courtyard.

When you do online check-in, you are not really checking in. All you are doing is pre-registering. You confirm your contact information, provide a Credit Card for charging privileges, etc. All rooms are assigned 2-3 days prior to your arrival whether you do online check-in or not.
