We are flying Alaska Airlines. They don't have any ITMs at MCO, so I know I'll have to check in at the desk, but what I don't know is how to handle our luggage.

Are we going to have to haul our luggage onto the train, or is there curb-side luggage check in like there is here in Seattle?

Not quite sure I understand you post, but I'll try to help!

By "train", I assume you mean the tram that takes you to the gates at MCO?? If that is the case, then let me tell you how MCO is set up. When you check in, you check your luggage at your airline gate. They transport it to the gate. Only you and your carry on goes on the tram. I would check MCO's website for curb check in or call Alaska Airline and ask if they have that service at MCO. Hope this helps!!!

First, thanks for replying. According to the MCO map, Alaska Airlilnes gates are not anywhere near the baggage area which is where we will be dropping off our rental cars. After we return our cars, what do we do with our luggage? Is this making any sense?

Do curbside check in with your luggage then return the car. Or drop someone off at the terminal with the luggage and then return the car. You can rent a baggage cart for $3.

We fly from Portland to Seattle and then to Orlando on Alaska. So when we get to the Orlando airport to return we go to the car rental, (National) drop the car off and take our luggage to the check in counter across the street from the car drop off. It's not far. We check in our luggage and head to the tram to get to the gate where we take off. I have never seen curbside check-in for Alaska there. By the way when are you going? We will be in WDW in December and then again in March/April.

Thanks everyone. Hey Mousemom! It's good to hear from someone here in the Northwest. Have another question for ya. Since Alaska doesn't have any ITMs at MCO, do we check in at the same place as our luggage? I won't have access to a PC and printer to use e-tickets on our return flight.

There are 8 of us going. My husband and I, our oldest son, his wife, their boys (ages 5 & 9) and our other 2 sons, ages, 15 & 25. Our daughter and her family couldn't make this trip, but we'll be going to either WDW or Disneyland in another couple of years. Perhaps they can go then.

We're leaving for WDW next week...Friday (Nov. 11 - Nov. 20) We're taking the red-eye out of Seattle. It leaves at 11:23 PM and gets in Orlando at 7:30 AM, Saturday. We can't get into our villa until 4:00, so we are going straight from the airport to Islands Of Adventure. It's the smallest park we plan to visit and we're hoping to get out of there around 3:00 PM. The plan is to drop off the men and the kids, go to Super Walmart on Vine for supplies, a quick dip in the pool, then off to bed. We don't plan on doing a lot of cooking, but we're going to need munchies while we laze around the pool in the evenings.

Sunday is the only morning we have to wake up early. We have an 8:15 priority seating reservation at the Crystal Palase in the MK.

It's pouring down rain and the temp. is in the 50s in the Seattle area tonight. It's hard to believe that next week we're going to be enjoying balmy 80 degree weather.

Well, my grandsons should be here trick or treating pretty soon. Our son took them to the Mall to trick or treat this year because of the rain. First time it's rained on Halloween in many, many years. My 15-yr-old grand-daughter and 3 year old grandson were already here. She was a witch, he was a goblin. Can't wait to see how the other 2 grandkids look.

Bouncy54, you check luggage in and get your boarding pass all at the same time/place. We are excited about leaving in early December. My husband, 15 year old son, and myself will be there a few days before our 21 year old son. He has to finish finals before he can leave and will take the red eye that night. I wanted to mention that coming home you might want to rent Alaska Airlines movie player. They are $10 and you can reserve before you leave so you are guaranteed one. They ran out of them on both our flight down and back last time we went. We had reserved one on-line so we were guaranteed a player. Have fun on your trip and we are also having torrential rain here.
