Questions about how many room supplies

Hi all,

Some of us DVCers started to discuss this in another post, so I thought I would make it a new topic.

Suppose you have a 1 bedroom villa at the BW for 9 days. During your stay you will get 1 full cleaning, and 1 trash and towel, if you don't pay for extra. So here are the questions:

1. How many towels should be in your room when you move in? How many should be replaced?

2. How much shampoo should be in the room when you move in? When does it get replaced? How many are you given?

3. How much soap (face and bath) should be in the room? When is it replaced and with how many?

4. When you move in, you have 1 box of tide. Does this ever get replaced? I remember getting a new box in 2003 during T&T service when I was a renter in 2003. This time, it never got replaced with full cleaning or T&T.

Thanks in advance for your responses! It will help a lot of us out.

On trash and towel day, a 1 bedroom should receive four bath towels, 2 hand towels and 4 washcloths. There will be on bar of bath soap and one bar of facial soap and one shampoo. I believe the bath products are per bath. At OKW, we often get two sets in a 1 bedroom because of the two part bathroom (sinks in different rooms of the bathroom). Those same things will be replaced on full cleaning day, and we have always gotten an extra box of Tide each T&T and full cleaning day. In some cases, they have left us more than one. When they see I have my own laundry soap sitting in the laundry room, they don't leave any.

Diane,

At the BW you have a split, 2 sink set up as well. I ask the question because they left 1 bar of soap for 2 sinks, 1 shower and 1 bath tub. When I called to complain (because I honestly believed we were supposed to get more) they brought more without charge.

Also, when we moved in we had 4 bath towels, which is what I thought we were supposed to get. Then on full clean and T&T they left 6 along with extra wash cloths.

I wish I knew about the shampoo, because i would have brought more of my own. But now I know for next time.

I don't really care for the shampoo, but DH uses it. I always bring my own everywhere. I know we had two sets in the master at OKW though. We often have 3-4 people in a 2 bedroom, so I don't think too much about that sort of stuff, because we always have more than we use.

I copied this directly from the DVC member web site for the BWV. APparently no one told BW housekeeping:

Trash & Towel Service
For stays of seven or less nights, Trash & Towel Service is provided on day four, regardless of whether you're using Member-discounted cash, Vacation Points or a combination of both.

With Trash & Towel service, Housekeeping will:

Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins.
Provide fresh bathroom linens.
Replace shampoo, facial soap and bath soap.
Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper.
Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners.
Replenish dishwashing liquid, dishwashing detergent, sponges and laundry detergent as needed in one-, two- and three-bedroom Vacation Homes.

When we stayed in a 1BR at OKW in July we initially had a towel set for 4. We stayed 7 nights but had our T&T after night 3, which actually turned out to be nice. We were provided 6 towels at that point, which was great since the 2 adults were taking 2 showers/day and the little ones one bath at a minimum. We didn't get any extra Tide, but I had brought a bag full of individual tabs and left them on top of the washer, so they might have seen those.

T&T is on day 4, which is the day after your 3rd night, so you had it when you should have.

Let me just say that I like having a fresh towel each day.

We were in a studio at the BWV and the maids outside at their carts had no problem giving us a stack of xtra towels that lasted our whole trip.

All you have to do is ask --

Did you happen to have a few dollars in your hand when you asked? :rotfl2:
