Disney Vacation Account. Good idea or bad? I am taking a cruise in Nov. My reservation is managed by a TA. I have the entire cruise and expenses covered in gift cards. My budget is $2000 but that includes the cruise cost and onboard expenses. For the cruise itself I owe about $1400. I just want the $40 I would get for the deposit of $2000 of gift cards. Is it hard to use? How do I get the on board expenses covered?

You don't get a $20 GC for every $1K deposited. You get a $20 GC for every $1K spent on qualifying purchases. If you use your DVA to pay for your remaining $1400 balance, you will be entitled to receive a $20 GC.
