Questions about changing SWA reservations

I have round trip flights booked from BWI to MCO and now need to change both dates. Does anyone know how I go about doing this? What will the implications be if the price of the goes up or down? Also, is there a charge to make changes? Thanks for the info!

I've had to do this before and it's painless and easy. Go to southwest.com On the right hand side it says My travel, Click change flight. It's pretty self explanatory. If the price is more than what you paid, you have to pay the difference. If it's lower, you get a credit for it. If you bought Early Bird Check in with it, it will transfer over as long as you don't cancel the reservation. I hope this helps!

Sounds easy enough. So there is no charge unless the price of the flight has increased? I know most airlines charge at least $75 each way to do this.

Nope. Southwest doesn't charge a fee to change. Just the difference in the fare price! Gotta luv SWA!

I have a related question. Does anyone know how long before a credit they issue expires?

They expire one year from the date when you originally booked the flight. You can get an extension for $50. You can also let someone else use them if you don't fly within a year. They do not have to be used by the person who originally booked the flight. Hope that helps.

Absolutely - thanks!

Just changed my flights. Very simple like you said it would be. Ended up with $56 in credits. I really can't see any reason to fly any other airline. I live about 20 minutes from Newark and I'd rather drive over an hour to Philly and fly Southwest.

Another question: When I want to book another flight, how do I go about applying the $56 credit?
