We have just booked a trip for June next year and as its going to be my son's 6th birthday while we are there we ahve psuhed the boat out and my hubby has booked a park view room in castle club!

We are very excited but also have not much idea to expect.

Would be grateful for any info, esp

- Where do CC guests have breakfast?

- How do you access CC?

- How do the rooms differ?

Also my parents are coming along but staying outside the park. Will they be able to come in to our room to see DS on the big day ? Or is their a "guard"????!

Any advice about birthday celebrations also very welcome!

I have not stayed at CC yet however will be in March so have read about it.

you access the castle club floor by a private lift that you use your room key to activate, there is also a private lift to the park entrance.
There is a lounge on the CC floor where breakfast and afternoon tea is served.

I don't think there is any difference between a Standard and a CC room, apart from the decorating, they are the same size.

I have no idea if your parents will be allowed, I guess you will have to ask when you check in.

Castle Club is superb.
You have a private breakfast room that serves free afternoon tea. It is a lovely room with a fantastic view up Main Street. Plenty of the characters visit breakfast in the morning also.
You take a private lift down to the park entrance. You get the private lift up to the Castle Club floor. You have to use your card to use this lift. It is extremely handy for accessing the parks.
As for your parents. As long as you are with them to swipe them into the lift then surely you can invite them into your room as guests. Their are no guards, the guard is your room card! I'm sure you won't have any problem with that.

Have a great time, we did!

Do you like the idea of a character meal with a birthday cake, perhaps at Cafe Mickey?

Or a birthday tea at Plaza Gardens?

Wow, thanks everybody for all the info!

We have stayed at DLH a few times but never castle club!

I rather fancied the tea party at Plaza Gardens but didn't know much about it?

I think we'll have to pass on Cafe Mickey. My little boy is autistic spectrum and last time we were there they suddenly sarted yelling and whooping and all the waiters danced on the tables and banged pans! Frightened the life out of him unfortunately!

How wonderful I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time at the DLH. :)
We celebrated DS's 7th birthday at Cafe Mickey and had a superb time, great food and atmosphere.

Oops posted at the same time. :)
We did the tea party at Plaza Gardens for his 5th birthday and it was equally fun, but a little more low key, I can see how Cafe Mickey can get rowdy in comparison. The tea party consisted of buffet sweet items when we did it but people have reported savoury items available too.
I adore Plaza Gardens it is a beautiful restaurant, very elegant. :)

be sure to speak to Concierge.. i am sure they will arrange something in your room.

I spoke to them regarding my husbands 40th bday and when we arrived in the room .. the room was filled with party balloons, and had a gift basket of cookies and brownies, and a fruit platter plus a signed card from all the characters..

it was really lovely and a great suprise for DH.

(and free of charge too!)

the concierge email is dlp.dlh.conciergerie@disney.com
