Questions about Candlelight Processional Dinner at Epcot...

They haven't released any info on the dinner packages yet this year (I'm anxiously waiting for it, too!) but this should give you info on last year's: http://allears.net/tp/h_cpfaq.htm

The CM I spoke to yesterday said the same restaurants as last year would be participating this year. She did not have the prices yet, but all three tiers are available for 1 credit on the DDP.

There is no special 'reserved' seating area...it's basically first come, first served.

Wow - this is a real eye-opener for me. Every thing I've read makes it sound like there is a section reserved for package buyers. It's too bad Disney doesn't make this more clear.

You can order from the regular menu. If Im not mistaken, appetizers are included.

Appetizers are only included in the pre-fixe menus (such as the Chef's Favorite's menu at Le Cellier) or if you're on the Deluxe or Premium Dining plans.

5:00 pm Performance – Dining seating occurs between 1:45-2:45.

Is that from Disney's site? I'm under the impression that apps aren't included in the CP package for guest on the regular Disney Dining Plan. Then again, I was looking on the AllEars site & they list the times as "5, 6:45 and 8 p.m" http://allears.net/tp/h_cpfaq.htm

OT: I just saw that 3 people from this page are arriving on the same day! Too funny!

In years past, appetizers WERE NOT included for those people using the dining plan. Only for those that paid OOP.

You may not want to take a chance on being able to see the show without the package. We've seen it several times and we usually go on Christmas Eve or Christmas night. I can tell you that we have seen people stand in the stand-by line for one show (not to mention - in the RAIN) and not get in after they let in the package holders and some of the stand-by people. I heard so many people complaining how they had been lined up for HOURS in the rain and they were hoping to get into the next show. Now, I'm assuming that this is because it's a popular thing to do on Xmas or Xmas Eve. But If you are going to do it on a busy weekend, you might want to consider the package.

We've also had a change in narrator - Gary Sinese was unable to make it one year and we had James Caviezel. He was great. No matter who reads the story, I think it would still be enjoyable. The choir and and the orchestra are both great.

This year we're going for Thanksgiving week and I'm a little fearful that it will be packed being the first weekend, so I'm patiently waiting for Disney to release more information. But when I spoke to a CM yesterday about tours, she did say that I should be able to book my Candlelight Processional package when I called back on August 19th to book all my dining and tour reservations.

Thank you for this information...I have looking what the time they give you to eat for the first showing. Now, I might need to change it to the last showing b/c of the meal time.

This has been my experience. I was with DF's who were paying OOP and they got the appetizer and I didn't.

I just read on the News board that this the the CP at Epcot may cost 2 TS credits on the DDP for all tiers this year!! That stinks.
What is the value in this if you can get in for free anyway even if you don't have a restaurant booked!:confused3
Is it impossible to get in to this without a dining res.?

That would be really disappointing. We added the DDP mainly just for the CP package. If they did that, we'd like book the lowest tier and pay OOP. I'd rather use 2 credits for a signature spot!

I have just read on various threads that not only will CP be 2 TS this year...they will also be set menus!:sad2:

I will not be using 2TS credits to book a 1TS restaurant with a set menu and a seat at a free show.

I will just be booking a regular ADR at Tutto or Teppan and take my chances with the stand-by line for the show

I'm in the same boat as you with the package/standby situation. Tutto Italia is a wonderful place to eat. They have fantastic food there IMO. I'm concerned about the set menu. That will be the deal breaking for my family. Good luck!

Thanks...That explains it perfectly.:thumbsup2
Very excited to book this now, my DW especially since Andy Garcia is reading on the nights I was planning.:)

I am so jealous that you get to see Andy Garcia!!! We will be leaving for home a few days before he performs. But, I am looking forward to seeing Stephen Curtis Chapman. Give my regards to Andy! :rotfl:

DITTO! I did read a thread where a person called to book (first day) and it is 2TS. Don't know about the menu part. That would probably not work for some of our pickier eaters. I don't have a TS that I want to "waste" on a place I could otherwise eat anything I want for 1 TS. I'll just eat early and plan to wait in line. :headache::mad:
Boy, what ARE they thinking down there???:confused3

I knew booking started soon, so it was today?

Would you mind linking me to that thread? Thanks!!!

I just called...You have to be in your 90 +10 window. :guilty:
I'll just have to call back tomorrow since it will be at my 90 day. Hopefully, there will be some tickets available for where we'd like to eat. But I'm fearful that it being the first night of CP that most likely I'll just end up getting stuck with whatever restaurant is left.
