Questions about Candlelight Processional Dinner at Epcot...

We have not reached our 90+10 window yet but I hope that the set menus are published ASAP! It will just be DH & I so we are not on any dining plan. There are several 2 credit reservations we want and we prefer appetizers to desserts sometimes. So we took advantage of a discount for our room instead of free dining.

I'm really ticked off at the 90+10 crap!!! We're not arriving until 11/26 and are checking out on 11/28 to get on the boat. We have one night to see CP and I can't book the stinkin' package until the 28th!!!

And she just said to me "Hey, I'm only the messenger." I never lost my cool or cursed or anything like that. I told her to feel free to inform her superiors that this is ridiculous. :sad2:

I don't even know if we'll get tickets now. I am not pleased!!!

I hope that the set menus are published ASAP!
I asked about the set menus and was told that you can order off the menu the same as last year. :confused3 And there was no reserved spots for Illuminations as was posted on another thread. I wish they would just put out a press release so that everyone knew what was going on.

Sorry, I don't know how to paste a post on here so I just copied it and put it in here. Here is what I read:

He couldn’t send all of the menus but sent just this one as an FYI. It’s a set menu this year and is 2 Table credits. New for this year will also be included a special (standing) viewing area for the Illuminations fireworks display on that night, the location will be stated when the guest checks in at the restaurant for the meal that day. There are several options and they are not requestable.

It is a set menu, not based on whether the guest has a Dine or Deluxe Dining plan, still two Table Service entitlements and the menus vary, for instance Le Cellier has a Salad and Appetizer.

LeCellier Children's Menu -$17.03

Pasta with Tomato Sauce
All children's meals are served with a complimentary fountain beverage., Child's Portion Available

I am so disgusted with the whole 2 TS credits and Fixed menus...I am not doing CP this year. I was not thrilled with my narrator choices to begin with ( Abigail Breslin or Vanessa Williams). It is definitely NOT WORTH 2 TS credits, when these restaurants are 1 TS credit places and then have to have a FIXED MENU...Nope not me.I will save my credits and do a signature restaurant that merits the credit usage. I am also writing a complaint letter to disney..

emilyann - I read the other thread but the info I posted came from a CM when I called 407-WDW-DINE. Who knows which is correct? :confused3

Do you have an address? I agree with you 100%

I was under the impression that the CP dinner packages would NOT be under the 90+10 allowance for resort guests. That's a shame if that's how it's working.

Thanks emilyann, it sounds like the "set" menu still has options. I'm very happy with the narrator for 3 of our nights during our trip so hopefully I will be able to get a ressie at a restaurant we want w/o a problem. There will be people who have a 5 to 7 day jump on me due to the 90 + 10 option.

Well Disney faxed one sample set menu to our TA so I am guessing that is pretty acurate info. I am hoping I am wrong...guessing I am not.

I got the scoop from my TA...yes it is 2 TS pp, Yes there are fixed Menus ,and Yes it is subject to 90+10 at least from what Disney has told her.

Subscribing to this as well.

Just called Disney Dining and was told it was 90 days - not 90 +10 days.

There is a page on the website and it does not show the tiers - in past years it has. The agents have the Tiers and provided me with the information...And I had a very nice and informative agent.

Tier 1 Adults 32.99 lunch for 5:00 and 44.99
Germany
Garden Grill

Tier 2 Adults 38.99 44.99 (this last one does not sound right)
9 Dragonas
Morracco
Rose and Crown
Mexico

Tier 3 Adults 51.99 and 58.99 or 60.99

Chef de France
Coral Reef
Le Celliur
Japan (did not catch which one)
Italy.

The menu includes one appetizer, entree and dessert
Lobster is not included.

Question then - is it possible that there is a fixed menu for TS but not for cash????

I did request that the agent ask WDW to post the tiers on the website, presently the narrators are posted but not the tiers.

Lemme get this straight: $45/person to eat clammy cold cuts at the Biergarten and we're not even guaranteed we'll get a good seat unless we show up way ahead of time and stand in a line that's not quite as long as the standby line?

OR

$60/person to not get to pick whatever we want to eat at Le Cellier, where the two of us usually split a dinner and get out for less than $60 *total*?!

:faint:

Yep...:scared1:

CP is very popular. Hence what they are doing (my guess).
For those who won't do it, there are those who will.
I am also guessing they are hoping guests will bump up to Dlx Dine also.
Crowded time -- see CP -- don't have to wait two hours (or more) to get a decent Illuminations viewing spot.
Can't say I would do it either. But if I were a newbie, or did not go often, I would look at it a lot different.
It use to be if it was raining you could walk up and have seat once the show started. But as others have mentioned the line for seating will start an hour +, and that is those with seating passes.
Last year the area behind the seating was so crowded I don't know how the choir was able to make it through to get to the stage.

I have set myself on seeing the show, even though DH doesn't want to, but with the changes in the package I may not bother. I hate lines and don't want to spend a fortune on an overpriced meal just to get to still stand in line for awhile. I also know that without the package, I have little to no chance of getting in (Christmas Eve).

IF we do it, I'll do lunch on the lowest tier and pay OOP.

Called this morning to book HDDR and the lady I spoke with said she could definitely book the CP Pkg as it was within my 90+10. She actually brought it up to see if I was interested. She told me it was 2TS and there was preferred seating for Illuminations based on the show you are seeing. Another words, one location for the first show, one for the second, and one for the 8:15pm show. You will be told where to go at your restaurant. We didn't discuss the menus.

Anyone that wants to book with 90+10 and is being told no, call back!

Here is a quick overview of the CP package. We have done this many times and it definitely worth the $$.

The CP dinner pkg includes dinner, reserved show seating and in the past they gave you a small merchandise discount for EC.

The show is a narration of the xmas story from the bible. It is read by a celebrity who is backed up by a full choir made up of volunteer castmembers. local HS choir groups and the Voices of liberty. They are accompanied by a full orchestra who intersperse the appropriate xmas song throughout the narration. The show is held two times each evening at the American Gardens stage in World Showcase (America Pavillion). Often lines for the show alone for those without the package usually run about two hours. The reserved seating for pkg holders is the front rows under the stage roof. Believe me we were very grateful on rainy nights. The show is outstanding!

WDW has gone to tiered levels as it pertains to dining. The more popular restaurants such as Le Cellier are a higher tier. Usually you are given a set menu to choose from at each of the restaurants. Seating for the show is all the same no matter which tier you purchase. There is a special line for those who have purchased the dinner pkg when you enter the show.

Booking: I believe it is 90 days in advance. You can call the 407-wdw-dine and ask to book the CP dinner pkg. Often these sell out quickly, especially the closer you get to xmas. They will book the DR at that time. You also choose which show you want to attend and whether you want to dine before the show or after. Then when you arrive they usually have a special window at the entrance to EC to pick up your credentials. You will need park admission in addition to the pkg.

The shows begin immediatly following Thanksgiving and run through the first week of January.

Unfortunately, the merchandise discount at Epcot the day of the show ended years ago.
