We just went this past May and had an awesome time, so now maybe our
"once in a life time trip" will hopefully turn into a family tradition trip. I rented points from my sister to stay at BCV in May. For our next trip in May 2013, I'm debating between renting points from someone on this dis board or booking through Disney. My questions are:

1. Should I book room only or pkg? If a discount comes out which is easier to change to when I already booked the other?

2. Would like to stay at BCV again, do discounts also apply at BCV?

3. How does the payment plan work with a pkg deal? I understand w/room only it's like $400 down and you pay the rest at arrival or you can pay it off before hand.

4. How soon/late would you book for the BC?

5. Any opinions on renting points from other dis members would be greatly appreciated too!!

Thank you!!!!

1. Should I book room only or pkg? If a discount comes out which is easier to change to when I already booked the other?
A room only is typically easier to change. Changes to a package can be made upto 45 days prior to check in without penalty whereas changes to a room only can be made upto 5 days prior to check in without a penalty. You can always turn a room only into a package (to include tickets and/or dining plan) at a later date such as if you receive desired discount. Please remember that ny vacation insurance you add is non-refundable and not changeable..

2. Would like to stay at BCV again, do discounts also apply at BCV? If they need to fill rooms at BCV they will include it in a discount. That being said BCV are popular are even if they are offered in a discount supply could be limited.

3. How does the payment plan work with a pkg deal? I understand w/room only it's like $400 down and you pay the rest at arrival or you can pay it off before hand. For a room only reservation you pay 1 nights cost as the deposit and the remainder upon check in. For a package you pay a $200 deposit per room then the noire balance is due 45 days prior to check in.

4. How soon/late would you book for the BC?Again BC and BCV are popular and do fill up. That being said if you are counting on a discount you might need o be flexible with dates or room category. Overall sooner rather than later.

5. Any opinions on renting points from other dis members would be greatly appreciated too!!Ivevhad great experiences renting points on the DIS nd other sites. I do a lot of homework; checking the owner with the comptrollers website, contacting references. If i feel something is off, I do not continue. You do take a fair amount of risk in basically handing your money over to a stranger with little guarantee of getting what is promised. For taking that risk you receive substantial savings.

Go read the renting FAQS on the DVC boards and get a good signed contract and contact phone # & address of the owner.

Good luck!
